ROAD TO NATIONALS — ROB LANDSMEER #56
Rob Landsmeer’s motorsport story goes back a long way — starting at just 17 years old at Ellenbrook Speedway in a modified sedan Datsun 180B. He competed for around 10 years, spending the latter part of that time racing a 2.6L Mitsubishi Sigma around the South West tracks.
After a short break while establishing his own mechanical workshop in the Wheatbelt, Rob found his way back into competition through dirt go-karts, where he claimed four State Championships, before moving into bitumen karting with Yamaha and Rotax engines.
In 2016, Rob made the move into circuit racing with a Hyundai Excel, competing successfully at Wanneroo and Collie and adding two more State Championships to his tally.
Work commitments would later keep him away from the track for a few years, before the Toyota 86 entered the picture. For the past two seasons Rob has been competing in Improved Production Under 2 Litre, and 2025 was a standout year — taking out the State Championship, WASCC Championship and IPRAWA Championship.
More recently, Rob continued adding seat time with a full run at Tarmac West, all part of the build-up towards the 2026 Bridgestone Improved Production Nationals.
Rob and his brother Neil are a consistent sight around the IPRAWA pits and are both valued members of our racing community. Rob is the type of competitor who gives absolutely everything to whatever event he enters, and that commitment is something we see time and time again.
Now the focus turns to October and the Under 2 Litre Nationals battle at Wanneroo, he’s built an impressive racing record across multiple disciplines, and we can’t wait to see what #56 can do when the Nationals arrive. Maddington Toyota Canning Vale Toyota Landsmeer 107 Motorsport
