Several weeks of Wednesday results.
The Golf Club sponsored the Stableford competition held on the 4th of September β this was on the Friday as the club had very successfully hosted over 100 players in the SA Menβs and Womenβs Senior Amateur Championships on the 3 days prior. There were 12 players in the field. Jill Steen won the day with 36 points. Susie Mort was the runner-up with 35 points on a count back from Marlene Bull. The only person to win a nearest the pin was Jill Steen on the 16th hole.
On the following Wednesday, ladies played a Stableford competition, again sponsored by the Golf Club. This time there were 15 in the field β still not great numbers! Jenny Legoe was the winner with 37 points on a count back from Jill Steen. Alison Rowe had a great round also scoring 36 points. She also won the nearest the pin on the 7th hole.
Helloworld Travel sponsored the Par round played on the 16th of September. A big thank you to Charlie and his team for their ongoing support of the golf club. There were 19 players in the field, and the winner was Robyn Hage with +3 on a count back from Bernie Richards. Jenni Castine also played very well to score +2. The nearest the pin winner was Sandra Haynes who hit the green on the 16th hole.
Today, 20 players competed in a Stableford competition kindly sponsored by Craigβs Bakehouse. Craig is a new sponsor of the Wednesday competition, and we thank him for his very generous vouchers. The winner was Jill Steen with a massive 45 points. She has been playing very good golf of late, so her handicap will be coming down! The weather was superb and there were some very good scores, as shown by Jill and the runner-up Sandra Munn, who had 42 points. Penny Trueman and Jenni Castine also played very well, both scoring 40 points! Jill Williams, Elaine Zerk and Sandra Haynes all played better than their handicap, scoring 38, 38 and 37 points respectively. Felicity Miles was a very happy winner of the nearest the pin on the 7th hole.
A reminder that the Ladies Open Day will be held on Friday the 9th of October.
