Highs and lows for AMR team for night 4 of Thunder in the Canefields at Cairns Speedway

It was another promising night for Ashton & Lachlan Mineeff in the AMR N14 and N28 Sprintcars, with another strong 25 car field assembled.

Time trials got our night off to a strong start - with Lachlan going P9 and Ashton P11.

With the heat race invert, passing cars was important to secure value able points. Lachlan again made a dash appearance, leaving each of the cars with 2 dash appearances a piece over the past 4 nights of racing.

With the N28 rolling off P7, and the N14 rolling off P12 for the feature, Ashton made quick work getting inside the top 10 - but secured P10 at the line, after falling back a couple of positions late in the race due to a broken left rear shock absorber.

It was an unfortunate end to the night for Lachlan in the N28 - getting wrecked and sent upside down by another competitor which ended the night then and there. The car will be repaired and back on track today 💪🏽

With the final night of Thunder In the Canefields on tonight, the AMR team are looking to finish strong on a high, to end what has been an exciting and successful trip up north.

Weekend Wrap: Cairns Speedway N1&2 💪🏽

It was a solid showing for the Ashton Mineeff Racing team, with Ashton in the N14, and Lachlan in the N28, putting NSW on the map in 360/LS competition in Far North Queensland, against competition from Vic, QLD, and WA.

Ashton has been strong on yet another new track with a P8 in Night 1 feature, and running top 5 in the Night 2 feature before it was cancelled (which will re-run this coming Friday). Considering strong local, and interstate talent, we’re happy with our results, but know we have a little more in the tank for the next upcoming 3 races.

Night 2 was strong for Lachlan in the N28 - for only his 8th ever Sprintcar race, a strong time trial, heat races, and Dash appearance saw a top 8 starting spot in the A main. With a newly assembled, experienced team, after getting in the groove with each other, we’re looking forward to seeing what potential results we can secure before weeks end.

A big day of car wash and maintenance yesterday, we’re enjoying a short break until we’re back on track tomorrow, at Mareeba Speedway. One of Australia’s largest Speedways at 520m on the pole line (larger than Perth Motorplex), we’re keen to learn another track, and hope to continue our strong showing.

We got rained out of the feature 5 laps in. 👎🏼
They will re run the feature next Friday night with our cars starting P6 and P8.

This isn’t a repost! 2x heat wins here tonight so far at Cairns Speedway for Ashton in the N14 sees him roll out of P5 for the Bronze Shootout (Dash)!

Lachlan in the N28 has turned around from the tough run last night to have 2x 2nd place finishes in the heats - being P7 in points after qualifying and the heats, scoring him also a spot in the Bronze Shootout!

Solid first night for Ashton in the AMR N14, for our first proper laps of the Cairns Speedway track, which is a tough and technical track! We had some really solid speed at times, including the feature, where we moved forward in a competitive field, knocking on the door of a top 5 in the feature before fading late. We’re back tonight for night 2 of 5!

It was a tough night for Lachlan in the 28 who didn’t make it to the A main.
