Percy the Pelican is looking forward to a Run in the Springtime - while the weather was a bit chilly on Friday night, there were some hot bowls being played by some of our novice visitors and the music had others bopping along. After the standard raffles it was time to reveal our Jaguar of the Month loyalty program winner - Well done Vic. After bowls it was time to tuck in to a delicious meal prepared by Dale. Then more raffle winners - First Elleigh's pick rewarded Greg (chocolate, wine and a Percy's Pelican Run bag - notice the colour coordination with Greg's shirt); next it was Joanne who modelled her unique Pelican Run bag - also hiding some choccy and wine). Then Lara was the winner of a mystery prize donated by the 3rd placed Jubilee team in the recent Ingham 4s. There was some serious excitement as the next cleaning product themed item was revealed. But wait there was more when Pam Hocking was on hand to select the winners of her slice and fridge towel packs - first to Jenny and then Alec. Ian was rewarded for his resting toucher. All of this building the anticipation about who would be taking home the Pelicans.
There were a couple of rink winners - who got nothing but bragging rights. Runners up for the night were Alec, Russell and Greg - taking home a six pack, and drum roll for the winners, Mitch, Lara, Coen and Percy himself! Still one winner to be selected - and it was 'a purple ticket' - owned by Declan that took home the Multicom sponsored $50 cash.
We thank Jaysel and Multicom for their ongoing sponsorship that provides so much enjoyment to bowlers new and experienced.
Mark the last Friday in September in your diaries for the next fun evening.
BTW - how many of you noticed the digital honour boards on the big screen in the background of the presentation photos? Thanks Greg for launching this searchable resource. Looking forward to giving it a permanent home in the Club.

School holidays is a great time to introduce your 10 - 15 year olds to bowls. Come with them and see how much fun it can be for the whole family. We like to think that it is a unique sport where up to 4 generations can play together competitively.
