Heiron & Smith's Match Hall at 214-216 Castlereagh Street Sydney. The photograph shows the final heat of the Licensed Victuallers' Association NSW Billiards Tournament of October 1898 won by E Morris who won £50 and a silver cup. Second prize was won by H Walters and third prize by T Frost. The table is a Heiron & Smith Brassey model full-size billiard table. Heiron & Smith hosted many professional and other matches during a Golden Age of billiards in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Redcliffe Snooker Club Inc has five antique Heiron & Smith full-size billiard tables in excellent condition, including three matching Australia models.

Great work by Luke Muldoon at River Billiards re-covering the tables at Redcliffe Snooker Club Inc for the Queensland Open Billiards Championship conducted by the Queensland Billiards and Snooker Association Inc. Luke was not happy with the levels on this Heiron & Smith Billiards Pty Ltd table, so after stripping the table down he removed the slates and planed the frame level. Slates back on, table levelled, Strachan Superfine cloth fitted, and the table is playing like new. Well done to Redcliffe Snooker Club for providing such excellent playing conditions for this event with all tables upgraded before the event.

Congratulations to Neil Robertson winning the English Open. Neil played Wu Yize in the final with both players using Parris Cues.

Another quality Heiron & Smith billiard table delivered for a great family Christmas, Victorian Ash with chocolate cloth.

Joe Davis took the Walter Heiron Memorial Trophy back home with him, Walter Lindrum retired from competition a few years later so we never saw it again.
