We’ve had lots of questions about Term 4 swimming lessons! 💦

Term 4 enrolment information, including class availability and important dates, will be shared closer to the end of Term 3.

Current Ripples families will receive priority re-enrolment before any remaining places are offered to our waitlist. As we’re still settling into our new Term 3 timetable, we aren’t able to confirm Term 4 days or times just yet.

Today is World Drowning Prevention Day.

The biggest misconception about drowning is that it only happens to families who “don’t care.”

The truth is, drowning doesn’t discriminate.

It happens in backyard pools.
It happens at the beach.
It happens on holidays.
It happens in moments where an adult thinks someone else is watching.

The good news? Most child drownings are preventable.

Water safety isn’t one thing, it’s layers.

💧 Active adult supervision.
💧 Secure pool fencing.
💧 Learning to swim.
💧 Knowing what to do in an emergency.
💧 Respecting the water, every single time.

At Ripples, we don’t just teach children how to swim from one side of the pool to the other.

We teach them how to problem solve.
How to float when they’re tired.
How to breathe when they feel overwhelmed.
How to become calm instead of panicked.
Because confidence doesn’t save lives.
Skills do.

This World Drowning Prevention Day, make water safety a priority, not just today, but every day.

Every lesson.
Every supervised swim.
Every conversation.

They all matter.

One child with the right skills is one child better prepared.

There are plenty of things you can save money on... but teaching your child to swim shouldn't be one of them.

Swimming isn't just another extracurricular activity. It's a life skill they'll carry for the rest of their lives.

The return on investment isn't a trophy or a ribbon. It's the confidence, independence and ability to keep themselves safer around water.

Some things are expensive, but not everything valuable has a price tag.

📢 A QUICK UPDATE FOR RIPPLES FAMILIES

An email was sent out this morning regarding the start of the new term.

Due to a small number of classes with lower enrolments/peoples changes in circumstances, we've made a few slight timetable adjustments to Monday morning and Tuesday morning lessons.

These changes allow us to keep classes running efficiently while maintaining the best possible learning environment for our swimmers.

Please double-check your lesson time in the app before your first lesson back.

These school holidays have been exactly what my heart needed. 🤍

Between a handful of holiday intensives, I’ve spent the rest of the time soaking up the little moments with my boys - the ones that are so easy to miss when life gets busy.

Owning a business is something I’m incredibly grateful for, but being their mum will always be my greatest privilege.

I’m heading into this new term feeling refreshed, grounded and excited for what’s ahead. A fresh outlook, a full heart, and a continued commitment to doing what I do best.

Would you strap a toy to your child and expect it to keep them safe in the water?

It's a confronting question, but it's one worth asking.
Because that's exactly what a swim vest or puddle jumper is.

They're not approved life jackets. They're flotation toys designed for play under constant adult supervision. They are not designed to save a life.

One of the biggest concerns is that they keep children in an upright, vertical position in the water. That's the opposite of the body position we want children to learn if they unexpectedly end up in the water. Instead of developing confidence, balance and real swimming skills, they can create a false sense of security for both children and adults.

The safest combination around water will always be:
🏊 Swimming lessons that teach genuine water safety and survival skills.
👀 Active, uninterrupted adult supervision.
🦺 An approved life jacket when boating or participating in activities where one is recommended or required.

No toy can replace a skill that could one day save your child's life.
