RUTH BRAIN MEMORIAL AWARD | MEG HAMMERSTEIN

We are incredibly proud to announce Meg Hammerstein as this year’s recipient of the Ruth Brain Memorial Award.

Presented in consultation with Nick Brain, this is a very special award that recognises someone who demonstrates generosity, commitment and a genuine willingness to give their time to others and to our club.

Throughout the 2026 season, Meg has been someone who has simply put her hand up whenever something needed to be done.

From coaching, team managing and taking on the merchandise role, to leading our social club activities, Meg has given an incredible amount of her time and energy to the Pumas.

One of the highlights of the year was Meg’s vision for our Ladies Day, which grew into an incredible event for our club and community. With the support of some very brave volunteers willing to shave their locks, the event raised over $5,000 for breast cancer, an achievement everyone involved can be extremely proud of.

When Izzy went on leave, Meg once again stepped in, taking over our social media and ensuring our club, players, volunteers and achievements continued to be celebrated and promoted throughout the season.

Meg’s contribution goes far beyond any one role. Her willingness to help wherever needed, passion for the Pumas and commitment to making our club the best it can be have been evident all year.

The Ruth Brain Memorial Award holds a special place within our club, and Meg is a very deserving recipient who embodies the spirit of generosity, dedication and community that this award represents.

LIFE MEMBERSHIP | BRYAN KENNEDY & JIM CROWE

It is with great pleasure that we recognise Bryan Kennedy and Jim Crowe as Life Members of the Moyston Willaura Football Netball Club.

For more than 10 years, Bryan and Jim have taken on the important role of timekeeping, proudly continuing the job previously carried out by Les Bright.

Timekeeping may be a role that happens quietly behind the scenes, but it is an essential part of every game day. Week after week, year after year, Bryan and Jim have been there - giving their time, showing their commitment and ensuring the job gets done.

Their reliability, dedication and willingness to continually contribute is a wonderful reflection of what community football and netball clubs are built on.

Beyond their timekeeping duties, both Bryan and Jim are passionate supporters and highly valued members of the Pumas family. Their contribution over the years has played an important part in our club, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they have given.

Life Membership is a fitting recognition of their outstanding service and dedication to the Moyston Willaura Football Netball Club.

We’re excited to lock in Blake Hider and welcome Axel Hider to the Pumas for season 2027!

Blake Hider
Blake has committed to pulling on the Pumas colours again in 2027. A competitive midfielder who thrives on the inside, Blake brings plenty of toughness around the contest and isn’t afraid to put his body on the line.

Axel Hider
We’re thrilled to welcome Axel to the Pumas for 2027! Axel played his junior football with St Mary’s in Geelong and was also involved with the Geelong Falcons. After stepping away from football for several seasons due to work commitments, he’s ready to get back on the field - and this time alongside his brother.

Two tough, inside footballers who love the contest, love the physical side of the game and won’t shy away from a challenge.

We can’t wait to see the Hider brothers running out together in the black, white and teal in 2027! 🐾🩵🖤
