Waverley Blues Welcome New Senior Assistant Coaches for 2025

The Waverley Blues are excited to introduce our new senior assistant coaches, who will play a key role in guiding the team through the 2025 season under new head coach Sam Bates.

Welcome, Brad Taws!

Brad brings a wealth of experience, having held assistant coaching roles at:
• Blackburn (2011–2012)
• Carey (2013)
• Vermont (2014–2017)
• Wantirna South (2022)
• Oakleigh Districts (2024)

He has quickly settled into the club and is already making a strong impact. We’re thrilled to have Brad on board and extend a warm welcome to his family—Annetta, Ella, and Riley!

Welcome, Sean Young!

Sean also joins the Blues as a senior assistant, bringing an impressive playing and coaching background:
• 2014 Senior Premiership Player – Wantirna
• 2017 Senior B&F Runner-Up – Wantirna
• 2017 EFNL Division 1 Team of the Year – Wantirna
• Team of the Decade – Wantirna
• 2019 Under-19s Assistant Coach – Wantirna

Sean’s leadership and experience will be a great asset to the group. We’re delighted to welcome Sean and his partner, Prateeti, to the club!

The Waverley Blues Juniors will be holding its annual Registration Night at Community Bank Pinewood Reserve on Wednesday 19th February from 5pm. This will be the first official club event for the year and will be a great opportunity to register your child, meet the coaches, and reunite with parents & teammates.

will be in attendance to fit mouthguards for all those growing teeth!

Sausage Sizzle and drinks available for purchase.

Balls will be out for a kick on the oval.

AFL will be hosting a clinic on the ground as well.

COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT

We’re excited to announce that Tommy Miles will step into the role of Development Coach for the 2025 season.

A familiar figure at the Blues, Tommy rejoined the club in 2018 following stints in the VFL with Box Hill and Coburg. He is a 2008 premiership player, earning the Best on Ground medal as a 16-year-old.

This is a fantastic appointment for our club, and we can’t wait for the season ahead. Tommy will be supported by another familiar face, James Hansen.

We are pleased to announce that KYLE VICCARS has signed with the club full time for season 2025 after spending the last two years at Pt Melbourne in the VFL and prior to that in Premier Division EFNL.

A former junior, 19’s & senior player for the blues, we welcomed back Kyle in 2024 as his home club .

We are extremely excited to have Kyle back at the blues full time!!

We’re thrilled to confirm that Clint Martin has signed on as our Senior Women’s Coach for 2025! 🎉

Clint has done an outstanding job leading our team since we relaunched women’s football two years ago.

With a strong squad, we can’t wait to see what the team will achieve next season under his leadership.

And the excitement doesn’t stop there! We’re delighted to welcome Lucy “Milko” Milkeraitis as our Assistant Coach. 🙌

Milko made an immediate impact when she joined us late last season, bringing valuable experience and a commanding voice on the field. We’re looking forward to seeing her contribute both on and off the field.
