Your gym’s chest machines are probably wasting your time. Here’s how we picked ours.
Here’s chest day, and the 5 machines we picked, and why.
1. Prime Horizontal Chest Press. A converging press with two handle positions, neutral and wide, so it fits tall, short, broad and not so broad lifters. It doesn’t over converge, a flaw we see on a lot of machines. The adjustable resistance profile means you’re not locked into whatever curve the machine was built with.
2. Prime Incline Chest Press. Same reasoning as the flat press, with an adjustable seat angle. Built for a tucked elbow incline position that targets the upper chest fibers.
3. MegaMass Flat & Decline Press. A dual machine done properly, unilateral or bilateral in one unit. Our members wanted a seated decline option instead of lying down, this solved it. You can load the top or bottom to bias the stretch or contraction, and it converges perfectly.
4. Prime Pec Fly. It again has an adjustable resistance profile. We use this specifically for rear delts, hitting horizontal abduction through a stretch range that rows and other back work never actually reach.
5. Nautilus Nitro Plus Decline Fly. This builds the chest hang everyone loves. No further explanation needed.
Every machine on our floor is chosen with intent. That’s the difference.
There’s a right way to pick gym equipment, and most gyms aren’t doing it.
Here’s what we’ve chosen for chest day, and exactly why.
Prime Horizontal Chest Press. A converging press with two handle positions, neutral and wide, built for tall, short, broad and not so broad lifters alike. It doesn’t over converge, a mistake we see a lot. Adjustable resistance profile means you’re not stuck with whatever curve the machine came built with, and chest grows best through a stretch biased profile.
Prime Incline Chest Press. Same logic, with an adjustable seat angle. Great for a tucked elbow position that hits the outer upper chest fibers.
Mega Mass Flat & Decline Press. A true duo machine, unilateral or bilateral in one unit. Members wanted a seated decline instead of lying down, so this solved it. Load the top to bias stretch, the bottom to bias contraction, and it converges just the right amount.
Prime Fly. Adjustable resistance again. This is our go-to for rear delts, hitting horizontal abduction through a stretch range that rows and other back work never actually reach.
Nautilus Nitro Plus Decline Fly. The chest hang everyone loves. Lower pec fibers, nothing more needed.
Every piece on our floor is chosen with intent.

Bringing together years of coaching, teaching and refining the system he now shares with coaches around the world.
This October, we get to learn it from the man himself. 🙏🏼
A jam-packed weekend of learning from one of the best.
