Big shout out to the most incredible team of young girls a coach could ever have, The Roos Jr Women Squad.
Its benn a massively tough season where we relied on a squad of almost all u14s except 1 girl, rarely had a bench and gave up so much size and age. The amazing young ladies never gave up in the face of huge adversity and worked hard all season to varied results but never ever dropped their heads, complained, just put in the work on court like true champions. Hitting the finals these girls showed true heart and overcame the odds to make it to the Grand Final. Tonight they hit the court without me, as I am overseas, and under a great fill in coach, the awesome Ben Tremelling , played their hearts out and fell short by 1 point. As their coach I could not be any prouder of such a phenominal result. Coaching brings many high's and lows, but with these tremendously talented girls, even in defeat it has always been a high as just seeing the passion they put into every game is something special. Even coming up short tonight young Mia, an u14 girl, got game MVP!!!!! Absolutely remarkable work. So sad I couldn't have been there, but cant wait to see these absolute legends and celebrate all they have accomplished. Everyone of you girls are winners in my eyes.
