10. ROBERT (BOB) McDONALD

“Flagon” as he was affectionately known, didn’t need to be lean and mean to be a fantastic leg spinner and more than useful batsman.
He bamboozled the best of batsmen with his repertoire of deliveries and provided the lucky wicketkeeper with myriads of stumping opportunities.

Another strong personality who set the tone for Mount Eliza’s run of success in the 1970’s.

Bob played 78 First X1 Games, capturing 285 Wickets @ 12.3 and had best figures of 7/40 in 1972/73.
He captured a combined 448 Wickets @ 11.95 across all Grades.

He played in 3 First X1 Premierships, including one as Captain in 1972/73 (Pictured 2nd from the left at the front).

Also pictured is the 1982/83 MPCA Presentation Night (6 Flags) with Bob who was a member of the Prov 2nds.

Member of the Team of the 70’s.
