Our first ever league tag side to advance to a grand final 🔥🔥

What a season our 16 Girls have had to date, unbeaten in the competition and scoring a staggering 498 points, these girls pose a threat everywhere on the field with ball in hand.

After finishing Minor Premiers in the regular season our girls earned a week off in week 1 of the finals, in week 2 they took on a very confident Schofields side and right from the opening whistle the girls made their intentions felt with a dominant display winning 22-0 and earning themselves another week off and a history making moment for the club making it into the grand final, where they will now come up against the red hot Waratahs outfit who the girls know very well from their previous two close encounters.

Players to watch

Chelsea Nguyen
Competition point scoring leader, Chelsea usually plays in the fb role and at times assists in the middle when required. Very trustworthy player who quietly goes at her work and slices through teams when they let their guard down ever so slight and stepping up a number of tries throughout the season.

Hallie Schembri
Crafty ho**er for the team, linking up with the middles nicely to have the attack humming all year and picks her moments when to go with ball in hand causing trouble every time to the defensive sides, Hallie will be sure to give her opponents trouble one last time this weekend.

Nevaeh Gibbs
One of the competitions strongest edge defenders, making sure no player gets away easy. While the tagging has been a strong point her running game is what has caught the eye of all with her fast movements around defenders on countless occasions and looking to continue her form this weekend.

Our first ever league tag side are grand final bound in 2026 🔥🔥

After scoring a massive turn around the side scored 468pts and only conceding 50, the girls ended the regular season 12-2 finishing second on the ladder.

Moving into the Cup Finals the girls went up against the tough unbeaten Glenmore Park side in 1 v 2 battle over a 2 week period, both teams put on a great 2 game showcase but our girls worked hard till the end and their never say die attitude had them come out 28-24 winners with a last minute try to earn a week off and a grand final spot.

While their attack is a strong talking point, this groups greatest strength is their mental toughness and willingness to get behind each other in the toughest of moments and are no doubt ready to go one final time against their biggest rival, and bring home what they deserve.

Players to watch

Lilly Field - Fullback
The competition point scoring leader on 134, Lilly adds an X factor in attack that keeps her opponent on their toes at all times when she is seen probing around the ball. Her defensive reads from the back are second to none also. An exceptional goal kicker to add to her bag of tricks.

Roshaye Murti - Edge
The youngest of the group, but don’t let this fool you.
Playing on the edge and giving the opponents headaches in both defence and attack, even when given the smallest of windows, Roshaye will find a way to expose teams and slice her way through finding the try line for an impressive 17 occasions in 2026

Bella Sharma - Middle
Teaming up with Pasikala,Grisedale and Hibbard in the middle has seen a new game style to Bella in 2026, very cool, calm and collected with the ball in hand and giving side great momentum in key moments and played a pivotal role in both tries in their last encounter.

Our first ever league tag grand final takes place Sunday with our 14 Red team in the shield final ✈️

Starting the season with majority of the team coming into their first ever season of league tag, the girls faced the challenge of not only getting to know new faces but getting comfortable with a new style of play.

As the season progressed so did the team, every week they grew from strength to strength and never gave up, from pure determination the side finished 3rd in the shield and went into the finals series confident that anything can happen.

They went through a 2 week series against the Mountain Devils winning 44-8 over all and moving on to the qualifier against Blacktown Bears winning 20-8 seeing them move onto the grand final.

Nevaeh Bennett
An exciting young talent in the Minchinbury Jets Under 14 Red Girls League Tag squad, bringing plenty of energy, determination and enthusiasm every time she takes the field.

A player who continues to develop with every game, Nevaeh has shown a great attitude towards learning and improving her game. Her commitment to the team and willingness to work hard make her a valuable member of the Jets squad.

Taylani Rae Setu
The type of player who gives her best every time she steps onto the field. Her willingness to compete, support her teammates and stay involved throughout the game makes her an important part of the Jets squad.

With a strong team-first attitude, Taylani continues to grow in confidence and develop her skills with every game. She has shown that she is willing to put in the hard work, take on challenges and learn from every experience.

With some new faces to the game this year and the challenge of being the hunted, Coach Toleafoa has prepped this group exceptionally for season 2026 finishing the regular season as Minor Premiers 🔥

Going into the finals series the girls came up against a red hot Wolves squad who had recently pushed them right to the final whistle in what was one of the games of the season under lights.

The girls were ready for the occasion and came out of the blocks firing putting up 2 strong performances 34-0 and 40-4 earning them a week off and a spot straight in the grand final.

Players to look out for this Saturday

Araliya Ah Kee
Only in her second year of rugby league, Araliya has carried her outstanding form from last season straight into 2026. With her powerful running game and solid defence through the middle, she is a force on both sides of the ball. Her nonstop effort and work rate for the entire game are unmatched — definitely one to watch in the Grand Final.

Layla Letele
In her first year of rugby league, Layla has picked up the game incredibly quickly and continues to grow in confidence every week. Coming off the bench, she makes an immediate impact with her powerhouse runs, big hits and the energy she brings onto the field. She lifts the intensity to another level and will be one to watch when she enters the game.

Our 15 Girls are back to defend their B2B crown in 2026! ✈️

With some new faces to the game and a few girls moving interstate this year and the challenges of being the hunted, Coach Duncan has prepped this group exceptionally once again finishing the regular season as Minor Premiers 🔥

Going into the finals series the girls came up against a very tough and confident Wolves squad.
The girls were up for the occasion and went through a tough 2 week match up with the wolves and falling short 26-18, conceding tries in the final minutes of both match ups being the only difference between the 2 sides.

This seen our girls having to face up against a Brothers outfit that was up and about and were fast to get out of the blocks against our girls in Friday Night Lights.
From pure determination and effort our girls rose to the occasion in the second half and built a comeback, being behind in the finally minute of the match 16-12, our girls put on one last play which seen them crash under the post right as the final siren went and converted seeing them victorious 18-16 and setting up one final encounter with their biggest rivals Windsor!

Jay Rimene McCausland
A talented young player who brings plenty of energy, determination and attacking ability to the side.

Known for her strong running, natural attacking instincts and willingness to take on the opposition, Jay is the type of player who can create something from nothing. Her speed, footwork and ability to back herself make her a dangerous option whenever she gets the ball in space.

Kimora Talivaa
Talented and athletic, bringing plenty of speed, strength and determination to the team.

Being crowned Minor Premiers doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from commitment, teamwork, resilience and believing in each other every step of the way.

Our 13 Girls had the opportunity to run off at halftime of the Penrith vs Roosters match last night, Lilly Field, Skye Rimene-McCausland, Ana Setefano, Klarity Talivaa.
