Our story begins with Greg Chalk, our director, who started his journey in 1992 working in a timber yard after leaving school. This sparked Greg’s passion for building, leading him to complete a carpentry apprenticeship and later an Advanced Certificate V in Building Supervision (formerly known as the Clerk of Works).
Greg became a licensed builder in 1999, and on 13 March 2000, Benchmark Building & Carpentry was established. Over the years, the company expanded its services, and in 2012, we became Benchmark Building & Construction Pty Ltd to reflect the broader range of work we are completing, including new designer builds, renovations (specialising in top storey additions) and remedial building works.
Greg’s extensive building experience and knowledge, and hands-on approach have been key to our success, however Greg credits much of his success to the dedicated team around him.
