A special farewell to our outgoing President 💙

Tonight marked a very special moment for EHBA as our outgoing President, Brett Johns, completed his final presentations after 12 years as President of the Eastern Hills Basketball Association.

To mark the occasion, we had a couple of surprises planned.

We were incredibly fortunate to have EHBA Life Member Shirley Wilson, Brett’s grandmother, join us for the evening. Shirley stood alongside Brett as they presented medals and MVP awards together a particularly special moment given their shared history with our Association.

Brett was then surprised with a presentation from a group of referees, players and members whose journeys through EHBA he has been a significant part of over many years. While not everyone who has shared that journey could be there tonight, those who were able to attend represented so many people Brett has watched grow up through our basketball community.

It was an emotional moment for Brett and a fitting way to recognise what 12 years of leadership, service and commitment to EHBA has meant.

From presenting medals alongside his grandmother, to standing surrounded by people he has seen grow from kids into adults, referees, coaches and leaders within our game tonight was about much more than basketball.

Thank you, Brett, for 12 incredible years as President. 💙🏀
