Meet the EPSA team. 💙
Honestly? They're just a genuinely good bunch of people who love helping other people.
Twelve allied health pros — physios, exercise physiologists and a dietitian — who turn up each day to help our community move better, feel stronger and get back to doing what they love.
Whether it's your first appointment or your fiftieth, you're in kind, capable hands.
Thanks to this crew for the care they bring — every single day. 🌟

Last week some of you may have noticed a new face around the clinic! We would like to introduce everyone to our new Exercise Physiologist Matt! Matt joins us from Flinders University after completing his Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology. 🎓
He has a keen interest in helping those with chronic musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. While outside of the clinic you will often find him getting stuck in to his cricket and footy. 🏏
Now we understand that having multiple Matts at EPSA may be confusing for some, so please refer to the handy chart provided, and book in via our website once you find the right Matt (or Mat...) for yourself!

It's National Blood Donor Week (8–14 June)! 🩸
One donation can save up to three lives. This week, EPSA is shining a light on the blood, plasma and platelet donors who keep everyday Australians going — through cancer treatment, blood disorders, major surgery and so much more. ❤️
Here's the best part: EPSA has its own Lifeblood Team, and anyone can join. 🙌
Read our client stories, check out the numbers behind blood donation, then scan the QR code to roll up your sleeve with us. 👇

Last Saturday, we acknowledged World Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Day.
MS is an acquired chronic neurological condition that damages myelin, making it harder for people to move, balance and even see — among a wide range of other symptoms. It can often take months or years to get diagnosed.
37,800 Australians currently live with MS — enough to fill Adelaide Oval to nearly three-quarters. Globally, someone is diagnosed every 5 minutes (about as often as a South Australian gets asked what school they went to).
Hear from some of our EPSA legends living with MS on their experiences:

There have been some recent promotions within our team that we believe deserve some spotlight:
Chelsea was recently promoted to "fiancée". 💍
Aerton was recently promoted to "homeowner". 🔑
Don't worry, these promotions won't have any effect on their roles as exercise physiologists. If you wish to congratulate either of them, feel free to drop a comment or come see them in clinic for a session.

Late one Sunday night, while many of you were sleeping, cutting shapes at the Emu, or cramming in your home exercise programs, Hunter was representing EPSA by taking part in Wings for Life. What is Wings for Life, you ask?
Wings for Life is a global running event and fundraiser for spinal cord research. Every participant in the world starts running at the same time, as far as they can, stopping once an ever-accelerating catcher car overtakes them. All money raised goes towards groundbreaking research to (one day 🤞) help people living with spinal cord injury get back on their feet.
As a company built around helping people smash their healthcare goals, this event is something special to not only us, but also our clients. None more than Ryan (local legend living with a spinal cord injury), who currently works closely with our team on a weekly basis to improve his independence and help get back to doing what he loves: “hanging out with da boyzzz”.
💛 Want to support spinal cord research? Link in our bio to donate to Wings for Life. And if YOU'VE got a health goal to smash this year — that's what we're here for. Book in via the link too.

Recently, Hunter made a long trek down the hill for the ESSA (Exercise & Sport Science Australia) Activate Conference. The conference brought together exercise professionals from around the country to Adelaide for 3 days of seminars and workshops led by researchers, Paralympians, and fellow exercise physiologists.
After learning that the world does, in fact, continue to exist north of Majors Road (although the beaches are nowhere near as nice), he also learned about some of the latest and greatest research breakthroughs in exercise as medicine. Covering topics such as GLP-1s, parasport accessibility, mitochondrial health, and endometriosis.
Personal highlights included keynote talks from Dr Richard Harris (anaesthetist and cave diver who played an integral role in the 2018 Thai cave rescue) & Robert De Castella (former world champion marathon runner and director of the Indigenous Marathon Foundation).
The main takeaway from it all? Exercise is VERY good for you! So come see us to give it a try for yourself.
