WHAT A WAY TO FINISH!
Yesterday wrapped up our very last day of Winter Social Bowls for the season, and the weather gods certainly smiled on us with the sun shining bright!

We had an incredible turnout of 51 players forming 18 teams, which meant we got to stretch out across both greens to fit everyone in.

A massive thank you goes out to our incredible, consistent crew of regular helpers—Melissa, Robyn, Anita, Lois, Sheenah, and Tony. Your ongoing support has been invaluable.
We also want to give a huge shoutout to everyone who jumped behind the bar, helped set up, and packed up the rinks at the end of the day. Every bit of help is greatly appreciated!

We love organising these days and we are proud to provide such a great day for our the club and community.

Winter in Melbourne has been absolutely fantastic and today was no exception. We were spoiled with plenty of sunshine, beautiful blue skies, and hardly a breath of wind—perfect conditions for our latest social bowls day! We had a fantastic turnout with 44 players taking to the greens, including a couple of new faces who joined in on the fun. Thank you to everyone who came out and made the day such a success.

Time is flying, and there are now only 2 weeks left of social bowls for the season!

Winter Bowls turned on another lovely day for us yesterday - the weather was kind and the turnout was fantastic, with enough numbers to use two greens.

A huge thank you to Lindy and Therese for stepping in to make our delicious soup, and to all our wonderful helpers who keep things running smoothly.

Great to see some new faces in the winners’ group too.

We had a terrific turnout today with 55 bowlers hitting the greens.

The weather was absolutely perfect, allowing us to roll out across both of our fantastic surfaces.

Action was happening all day on the Norm Foenander synthetic and the Jan Shaw grass greens.

Despite a dismal forecast, there is clearly nothing a lawn bowler won't brave for a good roll and some great company. Here are the legends who thawed out the greens yesterday.

Winners: Lois Piroch, Marty Burke, and Marika Osmotherly! A massive shoutout to Marika—only her second game of lawn bowls - we are thrilled to hear she plans to play in the up coming pennant season
Runners-Up: Mark Murphy, Haydn Andrews, and Timmy Vawser. So close they could taste it, taking a very respectable second place.

Money Back Winners: Gary Thompson & Heather Jenkins and 2nd game money back goes to Greg Fletcher, Donny Cory & Anne Corcoran!

Yesterday was an absolute cracker for Winter Bowls at Moorabbin!

We had another fantastic turnout with 53 players hitting the greens.

For a mid-July winter's day, the weather truly doesn’t get any better—we were so incredibly thankful for the beautiful sunshine and zero wind!

Because the Tift was closed for maintenance, we ended up playing one game on the synthetic and one on the Bent green. Safe to say, the Bent was playing incredibly slow! We all agreed to play minimum length jacks, and even then, it took a massive effort just to get the bowl anywhere near the kitty. There were plenty of laughs trying to find our weight! If it had been wet and windy, it would have been a completely different story—half of us probably would have retreated straight to the warmth of the club rooms!

What a fantastic day at Moorabbin yesterday!

We celebrated Christmas in July in style, and our members certainly didn't disappoint with their festive outfits.
The competition was fierce both on the greens and in the fashion stakes. A massive congratulations (or perhaps condolences?) to Jase Ellis, who took home the prize for the best—or arguably the worst—dressed of the day. That loud Christmas jumper was definitely hard to miss!

We couldn't have asked for better turnout. The numbers were absolutely fantastic, so much so that we had to run the event across two greens just to fit everyone in!

The Melbourne winter weather looked after us for the most part. While it was a little windy—as you’d expect for the middle of July—the rain holds off until late in the evening, allowing us to get all our games in.

To top off a great day, Mark Powers treated us all to a delicious batch of homemade mulled wine. It was the perfect way to warm up after coming off the greens. We only wish Facebook had a "smell-o-vision" feature so we could share how amazing the clubhouse smelt!
