Australian Athletics Championships in Ballarat.
There were some fantastic performances by our Aberfeldie Runners who braved the challenging conditions to bring home the goods for the pool room. Our masters athletes ran the 4km course.

A clean sweep of the podium for Western A's women in the W60 race - the best cross country runners in the whole country. Huge congrats to all our runners!

Daegu 2026 WMA Championships
Unfortunately, Marlon's Korean campaign got off to a bad start in the 100m. Hopefully he can recover quickly for his next event.

Our venue members Marlon and John C will be competing at the World Masters Athletics Championships in Daegu, South Korea. We would like to wish them the best of luck and safe travels.

Our new State Premier, Ben Carroll MP, was especially keen to meet members of Aberfeldie Masters Athletics when he visited Maribyrnong parkrun this Saturday.

After being greeted by legendary parkrun volunteer Ian Newey before the start, Ben was keen to Hi-5 our Venue Manager, John Papworth along the course and exchange a few words. And after allegedly "accidentally" overtaking Cheryl Nelson in the funnel (stewards enquiry is underway!), Ben made a beeline for Sinh Dinh to shake his hand and congratulate him on his great run, overlooked by ever-happy friend of Aberfeldie Masters, Lam Bui.

Ben is apparently keen to get his 5K time down under 30 minutes ... If only there was somewhere he could train on a running track every Wednesday evening at 7:30pm, not far from Airport West and Niddrie!

Sri Chinmoy Running Festival held at Princess Park.

The event included a marathon as well as a 30Km, Half, 10Km and 5Km events

Marathon Man John K finished 37th in 4:36:14 and 7th in the M50-59 category

The spring equinox is not that far off, but in the meantime we have cold and rain to contend with. But the conditions didn't deter the inner north west's finest masters athletes this week.

Our shining stars were -
100m - David Dudderidge - 79.9% age grade
300m - Marlon Cummings - 78.3% age grade
4000m - Janice Hodgart - 78.3% age grade

Some top-notch performances this week. Well done to everyone who took part in the races, and of course to everyone who helped get set up, and on the track, and in the pavilion, and to close up at the end of night. You're all legends. Thank you
