Montrose Tennis Club

The Tennis Victoria Country Week tournament was held this year between 9-13 of february at the Shepparton and Maroopna tennis clubs.

Over 1300 players competed and over 100 grass courts were played on. It is a teams event with this year 17 ladies and 16 men’s sections.

Four ladies represented our club Diane Sherman, Bodil Weickhardt, Rose Elsom and Vivian Phelan. After a fun tough week of tennis playing morning and afternoon matches each day we came runner up in section 13.

A great effort by all the ladies, well done.

The courts are looking fantastic this morning with our new landscaping project almost complete. First week of the winter season for our juniors. Come down and have a look and grab a sausage or bacon and egg roll.

Congratulations to our OR15 and Boys 3 teams who both won their grand final matches yesterday at home.
A fantastic day with the Community Bank Mt Evelyn BBQ area getting good use from both players and spectators! Terrific to see our teams in their new uniforms too.

Lots of action on the Max Brown Real Estate Group court 2 with some tough competition over the morning.

Our JDC 3 Green team who were playing away against Heathmont put in a great effort to finish runners up for the season.

Well done to all players and teams for another great season. Don’t forget to get your registration in if you want to play winter comp. Let’s not forget our super coach Graeme Hill at Head Start Tennis 🎾

tactical and match play training.
