We’re excited to announce that Adam (Raph) Raphael and Chris (Hally) Hall are stepping up into the Senior Women’s coaching team for 2027! 🐻

Both Raph and Hally have been instrumental as assistant coaches, as well as working across the forward and backline coaching roles. Their experience, commitment and knowledge of the game make them a fantastic fit to take the next step.

We can’t wait to see what they bring to the Senior Women’s program in 2027! 💪

🐻 !POLLY IS BACK FOR 2027! 🐻
We’re thrilled to announce that Brett “Polly” Pollard will be back at the helm of our Reserve Women’s side in 2027! 🙌

Polly joined us in April this year after his previous club’s women’s side unfortunately didn’t get up and running, and he didn’t take long to make his mark at Lower Plenty.

From day one, Polly has brought an incredible level of knowledge, passion and genuine love for the game, quickly becoming a valued part of our women’s program and the wider Bears family. 🐻❤️

We can’t wait to see what Polly and his team can achieve in 2027. We’re lucky to have you! 🫶🏼

Arriving safely on 10 August at 3:25pm, little Daisy is already so loved and has brought plenty of joy to the Porter family. 🥰

From leading our Seniors on the field to taking on his most important role yet, we couldn’t be happier for Ciaran and Olivia as they embark on this incredible journey of parenthood.

What a journey it has been ❤️

Stewart Lewis and his assistant Brett (BT) Temple arrived at Lower Plenty in 2023 with the goal of building a women’s team. While they were unfortunately unable to get a team off the ground that year, they didn’t give up 👀

In 2024, they successfully established our said team — and what followed was nothing short of incredible ‼️

Two premierships in two years, followed by earning a spot in Division 1 - a remarkable achievement and a testament to the work, belief and commitment Stewart and Brett have poured into our women’s program.

From starting with an idea in 2023 to building a team that has now reached Division 1, the growth has been incredible to watch.
Thank you, Stew & Brett, for believing in women’s football at Lower Plenty, for backing the players and for laying the foundations of something truly special. ❤️🐻

🇦🇺 VIETNAM VETERANS DAY | SATURDAY 15 AUGUST 🇦🇺

Saturday was a special one at Lower Plenty as we hosted Panton Hill Football Netball Club for our Vietnam Veterans Day game, while also marking the final game of the season for both our Senior Men and Reserves.

It was a fantastic way to close out the home-and-away season, with both sides putting in strong performances in front of a great crowd. Our Senior Men finished the season with a 13.9 (87) to 16.11 (107) loss, while our Reserves also finished their season with a 19.13 (127) to 3.10 (28) win ‼️ narrowly missing out on finals.

Prior to the Senior game, both clubs came together for a moving Vietnam Veterans Day ceremony, with the Ode of Remembrance read as we paid tribute to the servicemen and women who served during the Vietnam War and honoured the sacrifices made by veterans and their families.

A huge thank you to Panton Hill for joining us and helping make the day so meaningful, and to everyone who came along and showed their respect. And to Ash and the Montmorency RSL for their help on Saturday.

AND lastly a huge thank you to Grant Barden for the time and effort he puts in each year to make Vietnam Veterans Day so special. Your dedication to honouring our veterans is truly appreciated.
