VALE CHRIS HODGETTS

Sadly, the club advises the passing of Chris Hodgetts. Chris was affectionately known in the club as Snoopy (and also Bundy) and commenced playing in the U12’s in 1970 with his twin brother Michael. Elder brother Peter had been playing at the club prior to that.

Chris played over 300 senior games with the club, including 52 State League games, throwing 217 goals in State league and 945 across all senior grades. He played in the 1981 Div 2 premiership team, topping the Association goalthrowers with 99 and finished runner up in the Association B&F. He was also a member of the Division One premiership teams in 1984 and 1988.

Playing mainly in attack as a damaging crease player, he was always capable of throwing a large bag of goals. But his contributions were not only on the field as he was a big part of the club’s social life and was no doubt a prime mover in getting bourbon added to the fridge. He is also fondly remembered for his exploits in the annual Snowball Cup.

A memorial service for Chris will be held 1.00 p.m. Friday 24/07/26 at St. Peters Eastern Hill, Melbourne.

Our thoughts are with Peter, Michael and the extended family.
