SDK Speedway Presentation Night 🏁🏆

Last night we attended the Sunraysia Dirt Karters Speedway Presentation Night, a great opportunity to celebrate the achievements of drivers, families, volunteers and supporters from the 2025/26 speedway season.

We were proud to see our MRT drivers recognised for their efforts throughout the year:

🏅 Eva received Participation Medals in both the Junior and Junior Standard classes.

🥈 Danil finished 2nd in All Powers and 2nd in the KT Light Club Aggregate Points standings.

🥉 Ivan finished 3rd in the KT Heavy Club Aggregate Points standings.

Congratulations to all the award winners and competitors who were recognised throughout the evening. It was great to catch up with fellow racers, reflect on the speedway season and celebrate the efforts of everyone involved.

A huge thank you to Sunraysia Dirt Karters, the officials, volunteers, sponsors and supporters who make the club and our sport possible. It was a fantastic night with plenty of laughs, great company and fun had by all.

While our focus has now shifted to Dirt Karting Australia competition, it was great to take a moment to look back on a successful speedway season and celebrate what was achieved along the way.

What a day of highs and lows for MRT Racing at Sunraysia Dirt Karter's yesterday.

Danil continued his impressive form, putting together a strong and consistent performance throughout the day to take out the Combined KT class. It was great to see all the hard work paying off with another win.

Ivan had a tougher outing, choosing to run an older engine package and finding himself just off the pace of the front runners. While the results weren't what we were chasing, it was still valuable track time and plenty of data gathered for future meetings.

Eva lined up for her first-ever race meeting in the senior ranks and continued to gain confidence and experience throughout the day. Unfortunately, during the final race of the day, in what can only be described as a mud bowl due to rain, Eva made contact with a post on the in-grid area coming off the track and her day ended with a trip to hospital.

Thankfully, Eva is okay and escaped with only soft tissue damage to her hand and some bruising to her leg. While it wasn't the way we wanted her first senior meeting to end, we're grateful the injuries weren't more serious and look forward to seeing her back behind the wheel soon.

Motorsport can be a rollercoaster, and yesterday was a perfect example of that. From standing on the top step of the podium to loading damaged equipment and making a trip to hospital, the team experienced just about every emotion possible.

A productive day of practice at Loxton today for MRT Racing

Eva continued to gain confidence and improve her pace every time she hit the track. This was her first time running a KT kart amongst the senior drivers and only her third time competing under AIDKA, so every lap was valuable experience. Unfortunately, just two laps into her third run, her engine decided it had had enough, bringing her day to an early end. While the day didn't finish as planned, Eva showed great improvement and gained plenty of confidence throughout the session.

Ivan spent the day trying a few different setup changes and was finally able to find a combination he was happy with by his third and fourth runs. With this only being his second time at Loxton, coming away with a setup that feels comfortable and suits the track was a big positive. The extra track time and testing gave the team plenty of useful information to take forward.

Overall, it was a valuable day of learning, testing and development for both drivers, with plenty of positives to take away despite the mechanical setback.

Day 1 of racing for the weekend is complete!

Ivan hit the track today in a combined KT Light, KT Medium and KT Heavy field, with points being separated across the three classes. The racing was fast and competitive all day, with Ivan enjoying the challenge of racing against the Light and Medium competitors.

After the heats, Ivan was leading the KT Heavy class and sat second overall on combined points, earning a front-row start from P2 for the final.

Unfortunately, while battling inside the top three during the final, the driver ahead checked up mid-corner, leaving Ivan with nowhere to go. With no way to avoid the incident, Ivan spun his kart to prevent contact, bringing an early end to what had been a strong run.

Despite the disappointment in the final, Ivan still secured the KT Heavy class win for the day and had a great time racing against the KT Light and KT Medium competitors throughout the meeting.

Overall, it was a positive day with plenty of speed shown and valuable laps completed. Tomorrow the team heads to Loxton for a practice day as preparations continue for upcoming major events.

🏁 MRT Racing is set for a busy weekend of karting action.🏁

On Saturday, Ivan will compete in the KT Heavy class at Sunraysia Dirt Karters' home track on Stonehouse Court, Koorlong. With strong competition expected, the meeting will provide another valuable opportunity to continue building pace and consistency throughout the season.

The team will then head to Loxton Kart Club on Sunday, where Ivan and Eva will take part in a closed practice day. For Ivan, the extra track time will be an important part of his preparation for the Australian Titles at Loxton in October, providing another opportunity to further familiarise himself with the circuit and fine-tune his driving ahead of one of the biggest events on the calendar.

For Eva, the practice day will provide valuable experience as she continues her transition into senior competition. With the increased power of the senior engine package and the challenge of racing on a circuit that turns both left and right compared to speedway's constant left turns, every lap is an important step in her development as a driver.

A solid day of racing for MRT Racing at Renmark Dirt Kart Club this weekend!

Ivan took on a strong combined field featuring KT Medium, KT Heavy and Statesman competitors, with some close racing right throughout the meeting. After battling hard all day, he was able to come away with an excellent 3rd place overall against the combined field.

Unfortunately, our day in the 125 Heavy class was cut short after the engine let go on the very last corner of the opening heat race. It's never the way you want to start a meeting, but that's motorsport and we'll get back to work in the shed to come back stronger next time.

🏁 Renmark Race Day This Weekend! 🏁

MRT Racing is heading to Renmark this weekend for a day meeting, with Ivan taking on double duties in both the Statesman and 125 Heavy classes.

This meeting will also mark Ivan's first time competing in the 125 Heavy class, and he's looking forward to the challenge of stepping into a new class and gaining valuable experience behind the wheel.

Unfortunately, Danil won't be racing this weekend after suffering an injury to his finger at school that required 11 stitches. He's understandably disappointed to miss the meeting but is already focused on his recovery and getting back on track as soon as possible.
