Friday September 25th is about so much more than a quiz and a raffle.
It's about coming together as a community to support something that truly matters , helping children with disabilities access the sports, activities and opportunities that every child deserves.
Our Encore performance Company dancers will be performing live, there'll be brilliant raffle prizes, and honestly, it's just going to be a really lovely night out with people who care about the same things you do.
Every ticket purchased means another child gets the chance to experience the joy, confidence and sense of belonging that comes from being part of something bigger than themselves.
And I can't think of a better reason to get dressed up, have a laugh, and spend a Friday night doing something that actually makes a difference.
Tickets are available now through the tryBooking link sent out through email , grab yours before they're gone, and I'll see you there. 💗
let's make this a night to remember.

I spent five years teaching kids to nail the choreography before I realised I was teaching the wrong thing.
For so long, I believed that perfect technique was the goal. Clean lines, sharp timing, flawless ex*****on. I thought if the steps looked right, everything else would follow.
But then I started noticing something. The kids who could replicate choreography perfectly weren't always the ones who lit up when they danced. Some of them looked hesitant. Some seemed afraid to get it wrong. And the ones who weren't naturally coordinated? They were starting to believe they weren't good at dance.
That's when it hit me. I wasn't teaching dance. I was teaching perfection. And perfection doesn't build confidence, it steals it.
So I changed everything.
I started celebrating effort as much as achievement. I made space for children to explore movement without fear of getting it wrong. I learned every child's name and made sure they knew they belonged from the moment they walked through the door. I created classes where joy came first, and technique grew naturally from that foundation.
Because here's what I know now: when a child feels capable, seen, and encouraged, they don't just learn to dance. They learn to believe in themselves. They build resilience. They make friends. They discover that trying is more important than being perfect.
And that transformation? That's everything.
If you want your child to experience dance in a way that nurtures their confidence, not just their coordination, follow along. I share what intentional, joyful teaching looks like every single day. 💗
I used to think giving back meant donating to big charities or sponsoring events I had no real connection to.
But then it hit me: what if giving back could be doing what we already love, just with intention?
Dance has given me everything. It gave me my first studio, my career, lifelong friendships, and the chance to watch hundreds of children discover their spark. It seemed only right that dance could also give back to our community.
So this year, we're launching something new: Applause for a Cause.
Our students are creating a show, not just to perform, but to raise funds for a local charity close to our hearts. They're learning choreography, building confidence on stage, and discovering that their talent and effort can make a real difference.
It's not about how much money we raise (though every bit helps). It's about teaching children that they already have something powerful to give. That what they do in the studio matters beyond the walls of the classroom. That joy and purpose can live in the same place.
This is the start of a new tradition for Encore, and I can't wait to see where it takes us.
Stay tuned for more details!

23 different ways my Midvale dancers build confidence every day.
Every day these moments happen naturally:
1. Learning a new combination and getting it right on the third try
2. Helping a younger dancer find their spot in the circle
3. Choosing their own creative movement during imaginative play
4. Saying hello to every friend as they walk through the door
5. Asking a question in class without hesitation
6. Celebrating a classmate's progress with genuine joy
7. Trying a challenging step even when it feels hard
8. Performing their routine in front of the group
9. Making a mistake and laughing instead of stopping
10. Suggesting a new way to interpret the music
11. Remembering the sequence without prompting
12. Encouraging a friend who's feeling nervous
13. Taking a leadership role during warm-ups
14. Expressing how they're feeling through movement
15. Noticing their own improvement from last week
16. Volunteering to demonstrate for the class
17. Working through frustration and trying again
18. Sharing space with kindness during partner work
19. Holding a balance longer than they thought they could
20. Creating their own choreography during free dance time
21. Walking taller when they master something new
22. Joining in even when they're the newest dancer
23. Leaving class proud of what they accomplished
This isn't just dance. It's watching children discover what they're capable of, one small moment at a time.
And it happens because every class is intentionally designed to nurture these experiences.
Save this if you're looking for an activity where your child genuinely thrives. 💗
I once worried my little one would never truly belong; now look at them.
This is the message I hold closest to my heart, and it's one I hear from parents often.
You drop your child at the door on their first day, hopeful but cautious. Maybe they've struggled to settle in other activities. Maybe they're shy, or just need a little extra encouragement to feel safe.
And then, week after week, you watch something beautiful unfold.
They start skipping through the door instead of hesitating. They light up when they talk about their friends. They ask if it's dance day yet. They come home buzzing with stories about what they learned, what they tried, what made them laugh.
That shift, that sense of belonging, doesn't happen by accident.
It happens because every child is welcomed by name. Because teachers celebrate effort as much as achievement. Because classes are intentionally inclusive, joyful, and nurturing. Because children are encouraged to try, to express themselves, to support one another, and to know that this is a place where they belong exactly as they are.
Confidence grows when a child feels seen, safe, and celebrated.
And that's what we build here, every single class.
Over 100 families have already enrolled their children at Encore Dance Company. Comment BELONG and I'll send you all the details about our classes.
Here's how to know if a dance class will actually build your child's confidence (without the overwhelm):
1. Check the enrolment process first. If it's confusing or full of hidden fees, that's a red flag. It should be clear and straightforward from the start.
2. Ask about showcase events. A healthy studio celebrates progress in a way that feels joyful, not stressful. Our November 15th showcase is exactly that – a beautiful moment where every child shines.
3. Notice how they talk about your child. Do they see them as an individual? At Encore, every child is valued and encouraged from the moment they walk through the door.
4. Look for community, not just classes. Your child will flourish when they feel like they belong, and you'll have peace of mind knowing they're somewhere supportive.
5. Trust your gut. If a place feels welcoming and intentional, you're probably right.
This isn't just about finding a dance class. It's about finding a place where your child can grow and your family feels supported.
Save this for when you're ready to explore classes💗

✨ COMP WEEKEND — WHAT A DAY! PART 2 ✨
I just had to jump back on to add a very special shoutout that absolutely deserves its own moment… ❤️
Two of our incredible dancers performed their SOLOS AND DUO all on the same day, and truly, they were nothing short of legends. 🔥
Between quick changes, nerves, warming up, supporting each other and going back out again and again, they completed an incredible 14 dances in ONE day… and did it with such professionalism, determination and heart.
And the results speak for themselves… ✨
🏆 Every single one of their dances qualified for Nationals in January! 🏆
On top of that, a huge congratulations to Izzy, who placed in the Top 5 soloists in her age group, an absolutely incredible achievement and so well deserved! 🌟
What an absolutely phenomenal weekend for her and all our dancers. To stay focused, consistent and performance-ready across such a huge workload is something really special, and they should be so incredibly proud of themselves.
This is what dedication, passion and love for dance looks like. ❤️
A massive congratulations to both of you, you were outstanding from start to finish, and we are all so proud of you.
What a weekend. What a team. What incredible dancers. ✨

✨ COMP WEEKEND — WHAT A DAY! ✨
What a whirlwind of a weekend! Between backstage nerves, quick changes, cheering from the wings and watching every troupe take the stage, there honestly wasn’t much time for photos, but there are so many beautiful moments to celebrate. ❤️
Every single one of our troupes should feel incredibly proud. The growth, confidence, teamwork and energy you brought to the stage was amazing, and the results were a wonderful reflection of all the hard work that has gone into this season.
🌟 A very special highlight of the day…
Our Hip Hop Troupe was awarded a SPECIAL JUDGES’ CHOICE AWARD for Choreography AND finished in the TOP 3 highest-scoring groups of the entire weekend! 🤩
What an incredible achievement!
A huge congratulations to Miss Charlee for your creativity, dedication and incredible work with this team. The choreography, energy and detail you have created with these girls was truly something special, and it was so wonderful to see it recognised by the judges.
And to the girls… WOW. 🔥
You absolutely owned that stage. The confidence, commitment and connection you brought to your performance was something to be so proud of. You should walk away from this weekend knowing just how special your team is.
Congratulations to every Encore dancer and every teacher who made this weekend so memorable. The trophies are wonderful, but seeing dancers grow, support each other and walk off stage feeling proud of what they achieved will always be the biggest win. 🫶
What a team. What a weekend. What a way to celebrate all the hard work! ✨
I believe those frozen cokes were earned 🤣
The kids who thrive in our studios aren't always the naturals. They're the ones who felt safe to try.
I'll never forget the little one who spent her first three classes sitting on the side, just watching. Her mum kept apologising, but I told her: there's no rush. This is her journey.
Week four, she got up. Tentative at first, copying the arms from the back row. By week eight, she was leading the warm-up with the biggest smile I'd ever seen.
That's what happens when children feel safe. When there's no pressure to be perfect, no comparison, no judgement. Just space to explore, permission to take their time, and consistent warmth waiting for them every single week.
Some of our most confident dancers started as our quietest. Some of our most joyful movers began on the edges. Because growth doesn't happen when children are pushed. It happens when they're held.
If you've got a little one who needs that kind of space, who deserves to flourish at their own pace, our studios were designed for them.
Book a trial and experience dance where trying is celebrated just as much as thriving.
Do you find navigating complex enrolment processes overwhelming, Midland mums?
