SKILLS MAINTENANCE

As we prepare for the 2026/2027 patrol season, it's important that we ensure all of our award members are proficient!

All Members who have patrol eligible Awards (Surf Rescue, Bronze Medallion, QLD Observers, Radio Operator Certificate, Resuscitation, ART, Observers, IRB Driver and IRB Crew) are required to complete the annual Skills Maintenance relevant to the Awards that they hold in order to be made and remain proficient. Your online requirements located in the SLS Hub must be completed prior to attending skills maintenance.

Congratulations to the Miami Beach IRB Team for their outstanding efforts last week at South West Rocks for the 2026 SHARKSKIN Australian IRB Championships!!

Across the board, 21 teams made semifinals with 11 of those teams making it through to the finals for their respective events - bringing home...
🥇GOLD in the U23 Female Teams
🥈SILVER in the Open Male Mass & Open Male Surf
🥉BRONZE in the Open Male Teams

In addition to the Australian IRB Championships, we also had members of Miami Beach representing Queensland in the Interstate Championships - Isaac henwood, Ethan Lewis, Oliver Henwood, Ryan Roberts & Cooper Doe!!

It was an incredible 4 days filled with high speed racing and a huge effort from all, congratulations Team Miami!!

Miami Beach SLSC is currently seeking expressions of interest for a Bronze Medallion & Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) course.

If you've ever considered becoming a Surf Lifesaver, now is the perfect time to let us know!
