What a beautiful day filled with faith, laughs, joy and of course - Dance !

Chora Dance Academy over the weekend had the great blessing to perform at the Saint Paraskevi Festival in St.Albans. The festival was to celebrate not only Saint Paraskevi but also to remember 35 whole years of the parish.

The dance academy along with various other groups of Melbournes Greek community performed a medley of dances from all over Greece.

Chora dance academy performed a teaser medley of dances from Cappadocia, honouring the Patron Saint of Australia - Saint Paisios the Athonite who along with Saint Arsenios originate from there.

Well done to our beautiful team of brave and dedicated dancers, may you continue to grow and unite all through your joy !

What is Chora Dance Academy ?

Chora Dance Academy is a school of Greek Dance and Culture created with the purpose of joining faith, community and heritage to create a simple but genuine family.

This family (our school) builds itself on the traditional values of faith, family and country.

What is the Purpose of this school ?

To teach the traditions, values and the ethos of our ancestral homeland to the younger generations in order that, they may have the same strength and hope in which our families had during the most difficult and trialing times.

This school is not to take over or diminish other beloved branches of our community. Instead, it is to bridge all of them together so that we can survive in this ever progressing and diving world.

Our school encourages and encompasses the ethos of our Holy Archdiocese, which is first and foremost Ενότητα / Unity in order that, “we may be One”.

If you’re interested to be apart of our dance family, we are always around Monday nights from 5.30pm until 8.30pm.

We have classes catering from kids aged 5+ all the way till 70’s (yes there are ‘oldies’ dancing with us).

All are Welcome 🙏

Dancing Classes are held every Monday at our Church Hall, located opposite the Church at 45 Poplar Street, Thomastown.

Times:
• 6:00pm – 7:00pm: Juniors
• 7:00pm – 8:30pm: Seniors

No experience is necessary and all ages are welcome! Come and be part of a fun and vibrant atmosphere as we celebrate our Greek culture through dance and fellowship.
