🏏 1ST XI CAPTAIN ANNOUNCEMENT🦌

We’re excited to have Troy continuing on as 1st XI Captain for the 2026/27 season!

A familiar face around the Bucks and a strong presence within the group, Troy will once again lead the team as we head into another big season.

He certainly wasted no time setting the standard last year, starting the season with a huge 108 off just 99 balls in Round 1🔥Can he start this season the same way?

Looking forward to seeing Troy back out there and leading the 1st XI again this year. Bring on Round 1!

🏏 PRE-SEASON LAUNCH – NEXT WEEKEND

Come down next weekend and help us kick off the 2026/27 season!

With the 2-day competition starting the following weekend and the 1-day comp kicking off a week later, it’s the perfect chance to get everyone together before the season gets underway.

Hope to see plenty of Bucks down there.

🏏 2ND XI CAPTAIN ANNOUNCEMENT 🏏

We’re excited to announce Aaron as our 2nd XI Captain for the 2026/27 season!

Aaron has been playing cricket since he was nine and is heading into his fifth season with the Bucks. A highlight from last season was being at the other end for two huge opening partnerships with Jerry and Sendu, watching them both bring up hundreds.

This season, Aaron is looking forward to getting out there with some of the new faces joining the Bucks and, of course, another year of Varnan relentlessly badgering the opposition 😂

A big thank you to Varnan, who is taking a step back from the captaincy this season after leading the 2nd XI over the years. We really appreciate everything he’s put into the team during his time as captain.

Congratulations Aaron and thanks Varnan!

🔵🔴 MEET YOUR 2026/27 BUCKS COMMITTEE 🔴🔵

We’re excited to introduce the Committee for the 2026/27 season.

President – Troy Humphries
Troy continues as President for another season, leading the Bucks into what we hope will be a big year for the club.

Vice President – Andrew Jones
A huge thank you to Pete Jansen for his contribution as Vice President. With Pete stepping away from the role, Andrew Jones is stepping up as VP as he takes a step back from playing this season and puts his energy into helping drive the club forward.

Treasurer – Michael Jansen
Another big thank you to Michael, who has been juggling both the Treasurer and Secretary roles. Handing over the Secretary duties will allow him to focus on keeping the club’s finances in order remaining onboard as Treasurer.

Secretary – Emma Lester
Emma steps up to Secretary this season after previously leading much of the club’s socials, events and communications, taking on a bigger role in the club’s administration.

Rounding out our General Committee, we’re pleased to have Pete Jansen, Ben Dall and Rob Winnin continuing their involvement, along with a big welcome to Jimmy Young, who joins the committee this season! 👏

A great mix of familiar faces and fresh ideas as we head into 2026/27, with plenty happening around the Bucks both on and off the field.

🏏 Guard of Honour for 700 Games 🏏

Day two gave us the chance to give Janno a well-deserved guard of honour to mark his incredible 700th game. A great moment with teammates lining up to acknowledge a massive milestone and a lifetime of commitment to the club.

🏏 A Very Special Milestone 🏏

What a fantastic moment this weekend, as Mike Jansen was recognised for an incredible 700 games for the Bucks. An achievement that speaks volumes about longevity, commitment, and a genuine love for the game.

It was great to see both teams take the time to acknowledge the milestone before play, with the ECA President presenting Mike with a certificate to mark the occasion. True to form, Mike was humble as ever, sharing his appreciation for the club, his teammates, and the game that’s given him so much over the years.

Milestones like these are what community cricket is all about.

🏏 Weekend Wrap 🏏

The 1st XI wrapped up day two of their match against Trinity Willison, with Trinity ultimately chasing down the 167 required. Despite the result, there was plenty of fight highlighted by a great bowling effort from Brad, who finished with 3 wickets, including a great caught and bowled.

The 2nd XI delivered a huge performance, getting off to a flying start with openers Aaron and Sendu putting on a massive 150-run partnership. Aaron finished with a classy 74, while Sendu retired on a brilliant 101. Raam added some quick runs with 33 to help get them to 239 then backed it up with a handy 3 wickets. The bowlers continued the job, dismissing Clifton Hill for 198 to secure a 41-run win, with overs still in hand.

With only 2 weeks left in the season, make sure you get around both sides with the 2nd XI at home this weekend 💪
