WORKING BEE 2026

A huge thank you to all members and guests that came to lend a helping hand for our working bee on Sunday. Many hands made light work, with a great turn out of roughly 35 people! The club has been given a nice face-lift before we kick off the silly season. Well done all for a great day with great vibes, and a special shout out to everyone involved with organising it all. Go Dees!

Melbourne Bowling Club are thrilled to welcome Paul Darroch and Lachy Darroch to the Dees family for the 2026/27 Pennant Season!

We're excited to have these two legends join us full-time after most recently representing Golden Square in the Bendigo Premier League.

Paul and Lachy bring a wealth of experience, commitment, and passion, and we're looking forward to the impact they'll make both on and off the green.

We're also delighted to welcome the rest of the Darroch family to MBC – Kristy, Zoe and Lachy's partner, Kate. We can't wait to have you all as part of the Dees community.

3 from 3. What a superb weekend of bowls

𝗩𝗕𝗟𝟱 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 #𝟮 | 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝟯 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀

First VBL, first in their pool, and onto their first finals series are the Melbourne Demons, but who would join them? It was tense going into the 2nd half of Round 3, as Deer Park and Warrnambool won 1 leg each and had no shot differential. Deer Park brought it home with a 3-shot overall win in the last moments of the game. The Bulls and the Pulse will miss this year's finals series.

Over in Pool D we had a top of the table clash between the Ocean Grove Grovers and Bundoora, with the Grovers edging out on top to finish top of the section after a fantastic two days. We say goodbye to the Dogs and the Steamers.

Here are your round 2 results.

Pool C still has 3 teams in the hunt for finals. VBL debutants Melbourne Demons had a come from behind victory over the Warrnambool Bulls and now lead their section. A clean sweep from Deer Park makes them a chance to jump ahead and qualify for finals, with only 5 points separating 1st and 3rd in the section. It's going to be an interesting round 3 for Pool C.

The top 2 in Pool D have earnt their finals tickets, as the Ocean Grove Grovers defeated the Yarraville/Footscray Dogs and Bundoora got the clean sweep over the Moama Steamers.

Tonight we had the first four-leg winners, with Warrnambool Bulls and Ocean Grove Grovers earning handy bonus points with their clean sweeps. Melbourne Demons had a great start to their VBL campaign, winning their first match on debut.
