👀 WHO DOESN’T LOVE A LAST BALL WIN? 🏏
A mix of our First and Second XI players took on Holy Trinity Cricket Club in our first practice match of the season, and we were treated to an absolute cracker that went right down to the final ball.
Bowling first, we kept things relatively tidy as Holy Trinity worked their way to 205 from their 40 overs, setting us a great early-season challenge with the bat.
Then Tom and Jish decided to put on a clinic. 🔥
The pair flew out of the blocks, putting on 90+ without loss inside the first 15 overs and giving us one heck of a platform to work with.
A strong partnership between Ram and Adam kept the chase moving before things tightened considerably through the middle overs. Full credit to Holy Trinity, who bowled brilliantly through that period and brought the game right back into the balance.
Enter the twins. D1 & D2. 👯♂️😏
With the game going down to the wire, Dulina and Dulaj produced some outstanding gap picking, electric running between the wickets and plenty of good old fashioned drop and run to keep us ticking.
It all came down to the final ball…
CHOCCIES. 🍫
A brilliant contest, a seriously valuable hit out for both sides and exactly the sort of close cricket you want heading into a new season.
A massive thank you to Aaron who umpired the entire game and our EBCC volunteers who put on an incredible spread throughout the day and fired up the BBQ afterwards. Days like these simply don’t happen without people giving up their time behind the scenes. 🖤💛🤍
And finally, a huge thank you to Holy Trinity Cricket Club for making the trip down and sharing a fantastic day of cricket with us. Quality cricketers and even better people. We really appreciate the game and wish them all the best for the season ahead. 🤝🏏
