East Malvern Tooronga Cricket Club was saddened to learn of the passing of Arthur “Arty” Garratt last week.
Arty lived and breathed cricket and made a great contribution to the club, most notably as scorer for the First XI, where he scored every game that his son, Matt, was involved in.
He was always willing to help around the club in whatever jobs were needed, including substitute fielding when the First XI was short.
Arty was universally loved not only by the First XI but by all players and supporters of the club.
Rest in peace Arty, and the club sends its condolences to Matt and the Garratt family.
