The Lilydale Cricket Club’s 2026/27 season is officially underway.

The vibe is building, and I’m sure you’re all missing cricket as much as I am!

You may have noticed our outstanding media team pumping out some fantastic content over the off-season. A huge thank you to Mitchy, Jussy and Lingers – amazing work, lads! 👏

Behind the scenes, the Committee has been working hard putting the finishing touches on everything for the upcoming season. Please keep an eye on our socials for announcements regarding pre-season training, apparel windows, and plenty more over the coming weeks.

JARRYD GASKIN RE-SIGNED

Some say James Hirds potential return to Essendon is the biggest news story of the year, but clearly that haven't heard that Gasky will be heading back to Lilydale for season 2026/2027!!!!

One of the hardest workers at the club and all class behind the stumps, the club is thrilled to have our favourite left hand bat back for the upcoming season.

MITCH EBEYER RE SIGNED

The club is thrilled to annouce Mitch from SEN is back at the dales for season 2026/27!!!

One of the great contributors across the journey, Mitch is a classy bat capable of making a big impact from any where in the order paired with some of the best fielding the comp has to offer. Now also a fiesty strike bolwer, Ebey loves a wicket, but not as much as we love having him back on board for next year.

Lilydale Cricket Club is proud to support Xavier Spencer-Welch as he takes on an incredible Ultra Marathon on August 30 to raise awareness and funds for Men’s Mental Health and The Shaka Project.

This challenge is about more than just running the distance. It’s about starting conversations, breaking down stigma, and reminding blokes that it’s okay to speak up and ask for help. The Shaka Project exists to ignite conversations around mental health and su***de prevention, helping create positive change in communities across Australia.

We encourage our cricket community and beyond to get behind Xave, follow his journey, and support this important cause however you can. Any donations are greatly appreciated.

MICHAEL AND LIAM HARTIGAN RECOMMIT

Father and son duo Michael and Liam Hartigan will be back in blue for season 26/27.

Michael has been a do it all man at the club these past few years, acting as the clubs secretary and vice president all whilst leading our 4th XI.

Michael has been an integral part of the clubs junior development, one of which being his son Liam who has been steady improver with both bat and ball.

The club is thrilled to have the Hartigans back on board for this season!!!

KARAN SINGH RECOMMITS

The club is thrilled to announce that Karan ‘Kaz’ Singh has signed on for the 2026/27 season in the blue and gold.

Karan enjoyed a strong season last year, playing the majority of the year in the First XI

Kaz, who is often referred to as the best cricketer to have played for both Lilydale and St. Andrews is well known for his silly antics and ability to get along with anyone; as long as they don’t slander his beloved Lions

Make sure to show the great man some love, as well all look forward to having him around again next season

RHYS SMITH RECOMMITTED

Huge news at Lilydale land as our reigning 2nd place beer pong champion puts crayon to paper to stay with Dales for 2026/27!!!

After an injury affected start to last season Rhys returned in great batting form with some newly developed mystery spin that puzzled batters, umpires and cricket fans world wide.

One of the all time great spin bowlers and an even better bloke, the club is thrilled to have Rhys back for next season.

ANGUS ADAMSON SIGNS ON AS PLAYING ASSISTANT COACH FOR THE 2026/27 SEASON

We are thrilled to not only announce the recommitment of Angus as a player, but also as the new assistant coach of the club

Angus “Gussel” Adamson has been apart of the club for 5 seasons thus far with some incredible highlights; including the 2023/24 RDCA T20 premiership, multiple 1st XI grand final appearances , and a stat line which reads:
- 1696 runs @ 24.94
- 8 x 50s
- High score of 94
- 57 wickets @ 24.12
- Best figures of 4/20

The club is excited for Angus to share his knowledge and wisdom of the game in a larger leadership capacity. He is a loved and well respected part of the LCC community with a plethora of experience to share and guide the playing group through the next season

Make sure to congratulate and support Angus on what is a big step in his and the club’s journey

💥 BEN SPENCER APPOINTED CLUB CRICKET DIRECTOR FOR SEASON 2026/27 💥

The Lilydale Cricket Club would like to thank Ben for his work as the clubs senior assistant coach during season 2025/26.

The club is excited to announce that Ben has been appointed to the club’s Cricket Director for season 2026/27.

Ho***rs will liase with Coaches, captains, junior coordinator’s, Junior coaches the committee to bridge the gap between the specific roles and whats needed to perform their roles adequately.
Its a great step in a forward direction 😊 and Ben is perfect for the role.
