I was training 5 days a week.
60–90 minutes a session.
And I still looked nothing like I used to in my 20’s and 30’s.
This first photo was the moment I realised something wasn’t working. I was 44 and thought I was past my best for good.
I was doing what most people do.
* training hard
* spending plenty of time in the gym
* thinking more work = better results
It didn’t.
I was frustrated and honestly pretty demotivated.
Then lockdown happened.
No gym.
No fancy equipment.
No normal routine.
So I started training in my dad’s backyard with:
* a few dumbbells and kettlebells
* one bench
* and a tree to hang off
That turned into the best training education of my life.
Because with limited equipment, I had to stop relying on machines, volume, time, and gym fluff…
and start figuring out what actually works.
And the funny thing is…
I ended up building the best body of my life.
Not by doing more.
By doing less, better, smarter.
And I’m also a dad. With a small business. And a life.
Which matters.
Because I wasn’t interested in spending my life in the gym anymore.
I needed training to work in the real world:
* less time
* better results
* sustainable
* realistic
That’s still how I train now.
And it’s how I coach my clients too.
I’ve upgraded from the backyard to the garage…
but I’ll never go back to wasting hours in the gym.
I help busy men and women 40+ lose fat, build muscle, and get great results without living in the gym.
