Selling what you know online has been one of the biggest industries on the internet for thirty years.

People have made millions from books, courses, coaching, and now AI tools.

Here's the problem. Every one of those is still information. And the market has stopped paying for information, because information is free now.

I've been building signature programs since 2015 and working exclusively with industry experts. Over five hundred of them. And the thing I've watched happen over and over is that someone with thirty years of expertise builds a course, or writes a book, and it goes nowhere. Then they assume the problem is their marketing.

It isn't. The reason is they skipped the extraction.

That's where your IP actually lives, and it's the part almost everyone hands over to AI. Which is exactly why so much of what's being produced right now sounds like slop. You and everyone else can hear it.

Because it isn't information. It's you. And AI is guessing at who you are.

Real extraction goes deeper than your professional experience. Your judgement, your pattern recognition, the thing you check first that you've never explained to anyone, and then further than that into what I call the True You.

And when you hit that, you see things about yourself you've genuinely never seen. You understand your natural flow state, which is the thing you do effortlessly that everyone else finds hard. And you start to see how every experience you've had has been leading somewhere.

What you build off the back of that isn't a course. It's an asset. Something you own, that you license to individuals or organisations, that sits on your balance sheet, and that you could sell your business with one day.

Nobody can copy it, because they'd have to have lived your life. That's what being a category of one actually means.

Is AI part of it? Absolutely. But after the extraction. Never instead of it.

This is projected to pass a trillion dollars in the early 2030s, and if you've got twenty or thirty years behind you, the expert economy is sitting there waiting.

I built a tool that'll get you started. Your signature offer, your positioning, how many leads you need to hit your financial goal, and a full personalised report.

Ten minutes. Free.

I'm going to ask you one question, because how you answer it tells you everything about whether you can grow your coaching business.

Why would someone buy from you?

Not because you're a leadership coach and someone's got a difficult team. Not because you're certified with twenty years behind you. There are thousands of people who can say that.

I mean what's your methodology. The one you've refined and tested and worked out over years of doing this. That's what someone's actually buying.

Ask most people and they can't answer it. Not because they don't have one, but because they've never codified it.

And you'll be told you don't need to for one to one. Just get on a call, have a conversation, send them a workbook afterwards.

Nobody wants that. They want an outcome, and you can't deliver an outcome reliably if the thing producing it only exists as instinct.

But that instinct didn't come from nowhere. It came from everything you've been through, the work and the life as well, because both of them shaped how you see a problem. That's what gets codified. And when your solution is built out of what you've actually lived, you show up completely as yourself and you can deliver the result. In this economy that's the only thing anyone's paying for.

That's your methodology. The structure underneath everything you do.

And your signature program is how that structure gets delivered. The system that moves someone from where they are now to the outcome, step by step.

That's what the client gets, whether they're working with you one to one or sitting in a mastermind. Same system, delivered a different way.

That's how you scale. Not by doing more, by having something that can travel.

Until that exists, what are you even messaging to? How do you create a lead magnet? How do you take a buyer on a journey? How do you build something that gives someone a taste of what makes you different, when the difference has never been named?

If you haven't codified your last 20, 30 years, sales and marketing is going to feel like an uphill battle.

I built a tool that'll start you off. Ten minutes, you get a personalised report on your positioning and your core idea. It's free. Comment SIGNATURE and I will DM you the link.

It’s not that I don’t like meditation but what I really needed was a pillow that I could scream into at 2:00am in the morning and get it out of my body. It felt so freaking good. Ever felt like that??

Just because you have a coaching certification doesn't mean you're qualified.

I ran a software company for years, and the best developers I ever employed were self-taught.

The worst came out of university with high distinctions in computer science.

I want to be careful here, because this isn't about intelligence and it certainly isn't about character. It's about one difference that turned out to matter enormously.

The self-taught ones had built things. Actual things that ran, broke, they'd had to fix at two in the morning because nobody else was going to, and they'd learned by consequence.

So when I handed them a brief, they could execute it, and half the time they'd finish my sentences before I got to the end of them.

The graduates had studied things. They knew the theory, often better than I did. But if it wasn't something they could recall from a textbook, they struggled to move, because they'd never had to work anything out with real stakes attached.

Not all of them, obviously. But enough that I saw the pattern, and eventually I changed how I hired entirely.

I work exclusively with industry experts now. People with twenty and thirty years of solving genuinely complex problems. They all have credentials of some kind, and a lot of them have no coaching certification at all, and they're sitting in serious boardrooms delivering outcomes that get measured.

Which brings me to the thing I can't reconcile.

If a coaching certification is the critical asset, why does the ICF's own study put the average coach at $49,283 a year?

That's their number, not mine.

And I want to be clear that I'm not dismissing certification. In plenty of industries it's a requirement, and for a lot of people it's the right foundation. But if you've invested in one and you're still barely making ends meet, or worse, not making the impact you actually wanted to make, then something in the equation isn't working.

Look at what's happening further up the market, and you can see why.

McKinsey's UK managing partner said late last year that around a quarter of the firm's global fees now come from outcome-based pricing rather than billable hours. His words were that they're doing more performance-based arrangements with clients. Bain and BCG are moving the same direction.

The most credentialed advisory firms on earth are being asked to prove results rather than bill for time. If that's happening to McKinsey, it's already happening to you.

My clients are PhDs, neuroscientists, senior government officials, enterprise sales professionals, and career and leadership specialists. Most of them have never done a coaching certification. What they have is decades of real experience, codified into a system that gets licensed to corporates, delivered one-to-one, or sold as self-study. Several revenue streams, one body of expertise.

And there's something else in it that I think gets missed in this whole conversation.

Coaching has logic, and it has heart, and it isn't a choice between them. It's both.

Hiding behind whether you're qualified is the logic side doing all the talking, and it's usually fear dressed up as rigour. People are craving depth right now, and depth doesn't come from a syllabus.

Nearly every client I work with has been through their own dark night of the soul at some point, and that shows up inside what they build. It's why they can take a genuinely holistic view of a complicated problem, whether the problem is a business or a person. The breadth to go that deep comes from having lived it. It doesn't come from a certificate or five self-help books.

So I think we need to stop treating these as the same thing.

Certification is one output. Qualification is another.

One says you completed the training.

The other says you've done the work, you've got the scars, and you can prove what happens when someone hires you.

You want both. But only one of them is what people are actually buying.

And...over and above all of this, it's completely okay for you to want to earn more than $49K a year. I don't know why that's become something people feel they have to apologise for.

Wanting to be paid properly for 20 or 30 years of expertise isn't greed. It's arithmetic.

How many coaches and consultants are showing up on social media every day, getting almost no results and thinking: "There must be something wrong with me."

I did for months.

And because humans love fixing themselves, I went looking for the problem.

Just spend five minutes on Facebook, Instagram or YouTube, and you'll find an explanation why you are the problem....

It's your trauma.

Your magnetism.

Your blocked chakras.

Your mindset.

Your nervous system.

Your negative thoughts.

So then we get to work, and we search:

"How do I heal my childhood trauma?"

"How do I stop negative thoughts?"

"How do I make my content magnetic?"

Three hours later, you've diagnosed yourself with seventeen problems you didn't know you had.

But here's something I've recently had to confront:

Maybe you don't need fixing.

Maybe your marketing does.

For years I created content through a marketing lens.

Find the pain.

Write the hook.

Agitate the problem.

Create urgency.

Introduce the solution.

Add the CTA.

And it worked.

It generated leads and clients for me.

But somewhere along the way, I think social media became so saturated with marketing that we've all learned to recognise when we're being marketed to.

Even when the marketing is clever, subtle or disguised as "value".

So I ditched that, and I'm trying something radically simple, and it feels great!

I'm going to stop trying to sell people with my content.

That's it.

I'm going to share what I know. Meaning.....

Things I've experienced, learned, got wrong, failed at, won, case studies, useful frameworks, observations, and ideas a coach or consultant can actually use.

Why?

Because there's a difference between marketing content and useful content.

Marketing content quietly asks:

"How can I turn this reader into a lead?"

Useful content asks:

"What can I help this person understand that they didn't understand before reading this?"

That distinction has completely changed how I think about content.

I've exhausted myself trying to understand hooks, algorithms, formats, posting times and whatever Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn apparently wants this week.

I know you have too.

I don't care anymore. I know who I write for - Coaches and consultants.

Those are the people I understand.

Those are the businesses I understand.

Those are the problems I know how to solve.

So that's who I'm going to write for.

Everyone else is welcome to stop by.

But I'm not writing for lawyers, accountants and 100,000 random people on the internet.

I'm writing for the coach or consultant who needs what I know.

And maybe that's what authentic content actually is.

Stop asking what you need to say to make someone buy.

Start asking:

"What do I know that could genuinely help this person today?"

Then write that - with your hands, not AI.

No performance.

No pretending.

No trying to sound profound.

Just tell the truth about something you actually know.

That's the experiment I'm running now.

And I'll let you know what happens.

The coaching model for 2027:

Codify what you know
Own your methodology
Prove you can deliver outcomes & results
Build multiple delivery models around your I.P.
Earn multiple revenue streams (with or without you in the room)
Use A.I. to scale it.

That's it.

And to do all of that, you need your own signature system that no one else can copy.

I built an app that gets you started. It won't cost you anything except 10 minutes of your time.

Leave a comment below...what are you experiencing in your business right now?

Your coaching certification is one thing; what you are known for in the market is another thing.

The most important asset any coach can have today is to 100% own and codify their IP because clients are demanding outcomes and results and want to see a delivery model.

I have a free masterclass that walks you through this process. Comment MASTERCLASS below, and I will send you the access link.

Does your coaching certification convert to a booked calendar of paying clients? The answer is no.

I’ve helped over 500 industry experts take out what’s in their head and turn into their own system that they own.

70% of my clients have coaching credentials/certifications and client acquisition is always the central pain point.

I’m not saying a coaching certification is not valid. In some industries, it’s a requirement.

But, competition is bigger now than ever and that means that you need to find your unfair advantage over your competition.

Your social media content does not do that part for you, although how you use language to articulate your uniqueness is key.

What gives you an unfair advantage is knowing without a shadow of a doubt that your unique system and your unique frameworks deliver outcomes, results and transformation.

On top of that, your system can generate multiple revenue streams outside of selling hourly rates and you don’t have to be in the room.

That is called your IP and that has nothing to do with certification. It’s beyond that.

The playing field has shifted for coaches and consultants and 2027 will look different to 2026.

My clients are licensing their signature systems into B2B, Universities and running private cohorts.

That means more reach, way more revenue and less time.

I recorded a masterclass that dives deeper. If you are an industry expert, leave a comment below or DM me and I’ll happily share it.
