But there are reasons we ask that phones stay at reception (and on silent):
1. Phones often bring the outside world along with them. A notification, a vibration, a ringtone, or even the temptation to check the screen can pull you and everyone else out of the present moment.
2. It protects the privacy of our students and instructors, but it also upholds the sacredness of the practice (and that’s not just yoga but also dance). Our practice is one small moment in the day, so simply be present.
If you need your phone nearby for an urgent reason, we completely understand. We ask that you let your instructor know beforehand and ensure your phone is on silent (not vibrate) and placed at the top of your mat. This will reduce the risk of instructors stepping on it as they circulate the room.

There are some massive misconceptions in yoga that we could make a series just to get through them all.
But these are some of the myths we seem to bust more often:
1. Full classes mean great instructors
A full class doesn’t automatically reflect the quality of the teaching. Attendance can be influenced by many factors: class times, studio schedules, trends or simply student habit.
Great instructors create spaces where students feel safe, supported and seen - whether there are five people in the room or fifty.
2. Props are for beginners
Props aren’t a sign that you’re “not there yet.” They’re tools that make the practice more accessible, more sustainable and often more insightful.
Even experienced practitioners and teachers use props to support alignment, explore sensation and create an experience while on the mat.
3. Advanced yoga means difficult shapes
It’s easy to assume that the more impressive the shape, the more advanced the practice. But yoga isn’t measured by how complex a shape looks. True progression is found in awareness, breath, presence and knowing when to challenge yourself and when to back off.
