💜 A pop of purple 💜

Teams members across VAHS' sites came to work pretty in purple, and displaying their "Purple Pledge" at the work stations or on their person, pledging how they create safe spaces for Rainbow Mob and the wider LGBTIQA+ Community for Wear it Purple Day 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Wear It Purple Day started in 2010 to address the devastating impact bullying, discrimination, and exclusion has on LGBTIQA+ youth 🌈

Having and holding safe health spaces for Rainbow Mob helps to break down social prejudice against q***r Mob, and helps VAHS deliver truly holistic health services for the whole Community 🖤💛❤️

VAHS is seeking expressions of interest for an Aboriginal artist to create artwork for our overdose prevention project 🎨

We are looking for someone with strong ties to Community who can create artwork in line with learning, healing, and walking alongside Community themes, reflecting Culturally safe education, support and connection 🖤💛❤️

Fitzroy Stars Football & Netball Club women's team have done it! 🏆

This incredible team have brought home Fitzroy Stars' first ever women's Northern Football Netball League Premiership with a determined Grand Final win over Ivanhoe 🖤⭐️❤️

As a proud partner of Fitzroy Stars, we could not be more proud of the players, coaches, support staff, volunteers, and supporters who contributed to this win, including the Best on Ground medallist Rosie Wilson🏅

A huge congratulations to the Fitzroy Stars Women's team on an incredible premiership victory! You write yourself into history as the first ever STARS Women's Premiership team!

The Stars defeated Ivanhoe 5.6 (36) to 3.6 (24) in a fantastic team performance, showcasing determination, skill, and heart when it mattered most.

What a way to finish the season. Congratulations to all the players, coaches, support staff, volunteers, and supporters who helped make this achievement possible.

ELDER OLYMPICS 🎳

The VAHS 855 Plenty Road South Morang and V***A - Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency Elders Groups came together for some friendly competition, combining their Elders Olympics 🏐

With a packed program of physical and mental competitions, everyone had lots of laughs and contributed to their team's efforts 🏅

Thank you to students from Trinity College Kew who came down to support our Elders, many of whom shared friendships and memories with the students' grandparents and great grandparents 🖤💛❤️

Our South Morang Elders group meets every Tuesday and Friday from 10.30am-2.30pm, and VAHS St Albans has recently started its own Elders Group 10.30am-2.30pm every Wednesday. New faces are always welcome 📆

VAHS 855 Plenty Road South Morang is holding a Community Yarning Session to connect with Mob living with epilepsy 🖤💛❤️

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living with epilepsy, their carers, family, and other supporters, as well as Community members wanting to learn more about epilepsy support are invited to join us next Wednesday 26 August 📆

There will be morning tea, a chance to be heard and connect with others, and help us create Culturally safe support that reflects Community needs 🫱🏽‍🫲🏿

The wait is over. The biggest game of the season is here!

This Sunday 23rd August, our Fitzroy Stars Women's Team takes on Ivanhoe in the Grand Final at Preston City Oval, with the first bounce at 12:00pm.

These two sides have already produced some great battles this season, winning one game each during the regular season, and the Stars getting the upper hand in the Qualifying Final. But Ivanhoe finished the home and away season as Minor Premiers, and they'll be ready to throw everything at us in what promises to be a hard-fought and thrilling contest.

For our women, this is an opportunity to write a special chapter in the club's history - to win our first ever Women's Premiership. After last year's Grand Final, they have worked tirelessly all season to earn another shot at premiership glory. Now they're back on the biggest stage and ready to leave everything out on the field.

Let's make sure they feel the support of the entire Stars family! Pack out Preston City Oval, wear your red, black and yellow with pride, and cheer on our ladies loudly and proudly!
