The Victoria Golf Club

There's a lot of history in the VGC bunkers.

The sharp, clean bunker edges that cut into the putting surfaces (hallmarks of Dr Alister MacKenzie's design philosophy) are a defining characteristic of Melbourne's renowned Sandbelt architecture.

Since 1927, the clubhouse has stood watch over the course, welcoming generations of golfers and serving as the heart of the club.

From the MacKenzie bunkering to the firm, fast greens - there's a lot to love at VGC. What's your favourite part of playing here?

The bunkering at VGC shaped with input from Dr. Alister MacKenzie and meticulously restored by OCM over more than two decades, each bunker is placed to reward the correct line and punish the careless one. Golden Age design, still asking the right questions.

There's no better way to finish your round than with a meal and a perfectly paired glass of wine. At Victoria Golf Club, the experience doesn't end on the 18th green.

Big congratulations to VGC's Nadene Gole, who's made history winning the English Senior Women's Strokeplay Championship. Nadene is the first international golfer to claim back-to-back titles in the event. Her one-shot win at Abbeydale Golf Club near Sheffield also marks a milestone, her 25th world ranking event victory.

The second one shot hole will play a similar club to the 4th. Aim to hit the ball through the gap at the front left of the green because this makes almost every pin position on the green accessible
