Junior finals were held today, bringing to a close a fun six-week season that has given our players plenty of opportunities to develop their skills, play competitive games and prepare for the Summer Competition starting in Term 4.

A massive congratulations to all of our teams:

U14 Girls – 1st
U14 Boys – 3rd
U16 Girls Black – 1st
U16 Girls Yellow – 2nd

We’re proud of the effort, improvement and teamwork shown by all of our players throughout the season.

A big thank you as well to our coaches and managers who have given up their time each week to support the teams, organise game days and help our players get the most out of the competition.

With winter now wrapped up, we’re busy putting together teams for the Summer Competition. If you’ve been thinking about giving water polo a try, now is the perfect time to get involved and start training before the season begins.

This week, Richmond Water Polo Club was proud to award Life Membership to Robyn Marshall

For many years, Robyn has been the heart of the Richmond women’s program, helping shape one of the club’s great success stories. Her dedication, leadership and passion have had a lasting impact on generations of players, from juniors learning the game for the first time to senior athletes competing at the highest levels.

Robyn’s contribution to water polo extends far beyond Richmond. As an Australian representative, she brought elite experience to the pool and she continues to share that knowledge with the next generation. Whether she’s coaching from the pool deck or jumping into the water alongside our younger players, Robyn is always willing to lead by example, encourage others and help players reach their potential.

Life Membership is awarded to those who have made an extraordinary contribution to our club and Robyn’s impact on Richmond Water Polo Club is difficult to overstate.

Congratulations, Robyn, and thank you for everything you have done and continue to do, for Richmond Water Polo Club. 🐯💛🖤

Tonight our Division 5 Tigers picked up a good win at MSAC, sharing the goals around three scorers who have all represented their countries at the highest level of the sport.

🐯 Rowie Webster – three-time Olympian (London, Rio, Tokyo) and current Richmond Men’s State League 1 coach

🐯 Greig “Spindles” Richardson – Australian representative and current Richmond Women’s State League 1 coach

🐯 Mark Grooby – Australian & New Zealand representative and former Richmond President

All three are Richmond Water Polo Club Life Members and after Olympic Games, World Championships, international tours and decades in the sport, they’re still turning up on Thursdays for local competition water polo.

That’s the standard we’re proud of and exactly the example we want for a club which strives to develop a lifelong love of the game.
💛🖤

Congratulations to our Richmond representatives! 🟡⚫️

We’re so proud to celebrate the Richmond athletes selected to represent Water Polo Victoria at the 2026 National State Championships.

The National State Championships bring together the best athletes from every state to compete for the national title while providing a pathway into Water Polo Australia’s National Age Group Program.

Selection is a wonderful achievement and reflects the hard work, commitment these athletes have shown throughout the season. We know you’ll represent both Victoria and Richmond with pride.

We’re also proud of every Richmond player who took part in the State Squad trials and training program. While not everyone earns a place on the final team, being selected to train alongside Victoria’s best athletes is an achievement in itself and an important step in every player’s development.

Thank you to our Richmond coaches Rowan, Ben and Lucy for giving their time, knowledge and support throughout the State Squad program. Your commitment to developing young athletes and helping these teams prepare for competition is greatly appreciated.

Congratulations to everyone involved and best of luck to our Richmond representatives as they take on the best from around Australia. With this year’s championships being held right here in Melbourne, we look forward to cheering on Team VIC and all of our Richmond representatives on home soil! 💛🖤
