2026 Students of The Australian Ballet School

The Australian Ballet School was proud to be part of the recent IFAA 2026 Conference in Melbourne, sharing their expertise and skills with anatomists from all over the globe.

As part of Dr Sue Mayes AM’s presentation “Fouettés on Phalanges: Anatomy Embodied and Applied”, students Emmaline, Ramita, Amos and Darcy participated in a class-on-stage demonstration led by Artistic Teacher, Jacki Clark.

The session explored the fascinating connection between anatomy, movement and the demands of ballet, bringing science and artistry together on stage.

We’re thrilled to be part of Housewarming, a spectacular free performance celebrating the reopening of the Ian Potter State Theatre.

Directed by Michael Kantor, Housewarming brings more than 100 Victorian artists together across music, dance, theatre and circus for a fast-paced celebration of live performance.

It's curtain down for The Australian Ballet: On Tour 2026!

What an incredible experience for our Level 8 students, performing alongside The Australian Ballet and bringing The Nutcracker Act II and Chrysalis to audiences from Ballarat to Darwin.

We're so proud of everything they've achieved on and off the stage!

Congratulations to alum Heidi Freeman on her appointment to the Paris Opera Ballet!
Since graduating from The Australian Ballet School in 2019, Heidi has forged an impressive career with Queensland Ballet, first as a Jette Parker Young Artist and later as a company artist.

Joining the Paris Opera Ballet marks an exceptional achievement. Renowned for its extraordinary artistic heritage, uncompromising standards and centuries-long legacy of excellence, the company represents the pinnacle of classical ballet for many dancers around the world.

Speaking about the opportunity, Heidi said: "I’m beyond excited and just so grateful for this opportunity, it feels surreal to be joining this iconic company for their 26/27 season. I’m looking forward to making the most of what will be undoubtedly an inspiring year!"

We are so proud of Heidi's achievement and look forward to following her next chapter in Paris.
