It's that time of the year again, for the annual Vic. Impulse Training Weekend. Cairn Curran Sailing Club will be the host venue, 29th & 30th August. This year we will be a similar to the regular format of past training weekends, where we will have a fun time whilst leading impulse sailors will be providing coaching along with a guest coach to be announced. It will also be a great social time.
This year we will again limit the number of boats to 30 and we will also require advance booking. We think spaces will fill in quickly so don't procrastinate, get your registration in ASAP. Registration will be via TryBooking on the following link. The fee will be $75.00 which covers, Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast and lunch. Camping will be an additional $15 for up to two nights inclusive, (Friday night/Saturday night.) If you will be bringing extras that are not participating in the training, (significant other, kids etc.) there is also an extra meals option in TryBooking for the weekend. For those who choose to come up Friday, we will again book the hotel for dinner.

Big weekend coming up. This year the Impulse Association has taken on fully the training weekend. Stand by for the official announcement but just a heads up, it’s again at Cairn Curran Sailing Club over the weekend of August 29 & 30. I think it will be a similar format as previous weekends and the club will be open on Friday afternoon for early birds and we will go to the pub for dinner. You can go to the Impulse Website and try booking is all set up for entries.

Our annual training weekend will be held on the last weekend in August at Cairn Curran, Sat 29 - Sun 30 August. More details to follow but for now lock in the date! Next Travellers race coming up soon at Albert Park Lake on 20 June. The traveller's heat will be the first race of the Albert Sailing Club 'Top of the Lake' Regatta Sat 20 - Sun 21 June
The regatta follows a short race format with races of 30 to 45 minutes in two sessions. Saturday's Information session is at 12.30pm for starts from 1.15pm. Races on Sunday from 10.15am with racing planned to finish by mid afternoon. Registration required even if you're just sailing the Saturay, go to:

The growing fleet of Impulses at Safety Beach would love to see a few visitors at the next Traveller's race coming up soon at Safety Beach Sailing Club on Sunday 26th April.
Race 1 is at 2pm and there will be 2 races sailed in the afternoon.
No Race fees payable, Lunches available from their kiosk.
The Traveller's Race will be Race 1. Hope to see you there!

Just over a week to go now before the Vic State Championship at Portarlington. The weather forecast is looking favourable. Great to see a couple of Tasmanian boats entered. Early bird entry expires at midnight on Sunday 1st March, enter now to avoid paying the full entry.

Just a couple of days to go to get your entry in for the Victorian Championship if you want to have a chance of winning your entry fee back. Enter before midnight on Sunday 15th Feb to go into the draw. Want some practice before the states? Travellers Series race at Williamstown Sailing Club coming up soon on Saturday 21st February would be ideal. A great club in the heart of the Port of Melbourne, a solid Impulse fleet, relax on the deck after sailing (actual view pictured!) Briefing at 12:50pm for a start at 2:00pm.
