GHC Noticeboard Post ๐ Plenty Hall Committee & Plenty Historical Society have teamed up to enter the Pick My Park competition, for funding contributing to the Plenty Heritage Park site right next to our club ๐ณ The organisations are seeking locals help and votes in support of their quest to develop the little park. The development of the park is not scheduled work for the council, so the organisations are seeking and advocating for funding elsewhere. This little parkโs dream hits close to home (literally 200m), so we would love to see it become a beautiful space of its own ๐ We strongly encourage our Burra community to head over to the competition and vote for this little park, you can do so here ๐ณ๏ธ๐๐ผ engage.vic.gov.au/pick-my-park

And weโre back again! Thatโs our last break done before the end of the season, so let jump back into it ๐๐ผ PL teams are heading out to Camberwell tomorrow, whilst MPE and MM1 will be on the field at home for Reunion Day ๐ฅณ Mid-Weekers see home games on Monday and away action on Wednesday. Juniors still have another week off before we see them back on the field. Reunion Day will be in full swing at Burra tomorrow from 1pm, so MAKE SURE you are there or making the trip back to the club after if your game is away (you know this one is always worth it). Good luck to all the teams and players hitting the field ๐ขโช

From the 5th-12th of July it is NAIDOC Week, where we celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The theme for this year is a celebration of an incredible milestone, it is โFifty Years of Deadlyโ. โIt is a tribute to the people who built the movement. The Elders who stood firm, the organisers who made space, the artists who turned resistance into expression, and the communities who keep showing up, year after yearโ โซ๏ธ๐ก๐ด๐ต๐ข
NAIDOC Week is a reminder that we all have have access and opportunity to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations held in the community. https://www.naidoc.org.au/ has an array of accessible resources that we encourage all members of our community to utilise and broaden their knowledge and understanding of the worldโs oldest living culture. Greensborough Hockey Club acknowledges the Wurundjeri people as the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we work, live, play and come together as a club. We pay our respects to their Elders โ past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres straight Islander peoples ๐ค๐โค๏ธ๐๐
