Whether itโ€™s on the field, court, in the stands, change rooms or online, everyone loses when racism happens in community sport.

Every child, player, supporter, volunteer, referee and coach should feel safe to participate in the game they love without fear of discrimination. There is no room for racism in sport.

This campaign has been delivered by Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) in partnership with Vicsport, AFL Victoria, Basketball Victoria, Cricket Victoria, Football Victoria, Netball Victoria, NRL Victoria, Tennis Victoria, VicHealth and Victorian Aboriginal Community Services Association Ltd. REMINDER | Vicsport's upcoming Child Safe Sport Community of Practice webinar on Tuesday 21 July will feature a presentation from the Social Services Regulator (SSR). Playing an important role in promoting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people, SSR supports organisations to understand and meet their responsibilities under the Child Safe Standards.

At this session, participants will gain a greater understanding of the role of the SSR and current child safety priorities, explore practical approaches to creating and maintaining safe environments while also having the chance to network with those working in similar spaces.

Vicsport is launching the State of Victorian Sport & Recreation 2026 survey to better understand the opportunities, challenges and future of our sector. The survey explores simple but important questions:

โ€ข Is Victoria becoming the best place to be involved in sport and recreation?
โ€ข Where are we doing well?
โ€ข What should we do in the future?

The survey takes approximately 8โ€“10 minutes to complete and will help shape future priorities and discussions about how Victoria can become the best place to be involved in sport and recreation.

We welcome everyone involved in sport to answer the survey - and we would be grateful to have your perspective: https://form.typeform.com/to/zpUzKLSd

Beginning yesterday and running until July 12, marks 50 Years of Deadly in 2026. For five decades, National NAIDOC Week has celebrated the voices of communities - steady, unapologetic and proud - while its themes have called for truth, celebrated culture, honoured resistance and reminded the nation of who they are.

Vicsport acknowledges the Traditional Owners of all lands on which we do business and play sport and we pay our respects to Elders past and present. We also acknowledge the beautiful and valuable contributions that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People make to Victorian sport, on and off the playing surfaces.

As part of our Integrity Forum series, supported by Sport and Recreation Victoria, on Wednesday night we hosted The Great Debate with Allana Sharman, Jason Hellwig, Ebony McQuinn, Greg Schneiders, Kate Palmer, Sunil Menon and Ayden Shaw engaging in a robust, honest and passionate dialogue on whether "Victoria is the best place to be involved in sport - for everyone?"

Covering topics including Safety, Participation and Inclusion, Integrity and Fairness, Responsibility, Volunteers and The Future, the debate was thought-provoking whichever side you fell on. Rewatch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GAK5UBW1TA

Next Wednesday, Vicsport's Great Debate, supported by Sport and Recreation Victoria, will explore that question with eight distinct voices from throughout our industry across topics including:

๐—ฆ๐—ฎ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐˜๐˜†: Are we doing enough for child safeguarding, sideline behaviour, online behaviour and reporting?

๐—™๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€: Are Victorian sporting opportunities distributed fairly across traditional and emerging sports? For regional communities? For facility access?

๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฏ๐—ถ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜๐˜†: Should sport focus on sport or should we use it to solve broader issues?

๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—™๐˜‚๐˜๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฒ: When we look back on Victorian sport in ten years' time, will we say it was in the best state?
