Tonight we had our screening of Yurlu Country.
This film is one that so clearly shows us what the settler colonial state has done to Country and its ongoing exponential harm against Mob.
Please continue to donate and buy from Indigenous owned businesses and charities.
Wittenoom is this country’s Chernobyl, it is the most contaminated land in the southern hemisphere.
This land was destroyed by the likes of gina reinharts company hancock prospecting - something they’ve never even attempted to fix.
My heart is sore and may Uncle Maitland rest in peace knowing his fight goes on.
Donate to to support the Banjima mob to return to Country.

Thankyou to all of the Clubs and the Ida bar that made the Enviro Clubs Mixer possible.
This is something that I (Kay) have been so passionate about putting together for a long time, our clubs are what makes our university and our student life. They underpins our student life and are the last remaining groups on campus with true ingress into the student body.
It was so wonderful meeting the huge amount of people that came through and I hope you found new clubs, new friends and new connections.
Also a huge shoutout to the students from the OEP that showed out in huge numbers.
We’ll see you next time!

A belated post to our gorgeous thrift market!
Thankyou to everyone who came to our second thrift market this year! It was a different setup and we got to play around a bit!
Once again a massive thanks to all the stall holders, I was so proud to have set this up and to deliver on promises I made. We’ll see you in week 8! - Kay, UMSU Enviro

Hello!
This week Thursday night UMSU Enviro is hosting an Enviro Clubs mixer event at the IDA Bar L1 B168 5:30-8:30pm.
We hope at this event clubs can meet each other and connect along with students to find new clubs that they align with.
We are extremely excited to be hosting this with our clubs, the very people that make our university what it is and who uphold student life.
Expect to see games, activities, free food, free drinks and a masterful yap session.
Very keen to see y’all there!

UMSU Enviro Officer Bella: was so proud to have organised the largest high school and uni student walkout against Pauline Hanson and One Nation since at least the 1990s. Around 7000 students went on STRIKE in Melbourne to demonstrate their opposition to the rise of fascism in this country. This is exactly what our student union needs to be putting more of its resources into • that’s why i’m proud to have used the Enviro office to help build this historic demonstration.
Many more to come • see you at the next strike on September 17!
Thanks Matt Hrkac for the epic photos
