We couldn’t be prouder of the effort and resilience shown by every swimmer.

To finish the week, we hosted Ivanhoe Swim Meet #2, welcoming more than 140 swimmers to race in our pool. It was fantastic to see so many personal bests, Metro and State qualifying times, and, most importantly, smiling faces on pool deck.

A heartfelt thank you to all of our officials and volunteers who generously gave their time to make our meet possible.

2026 Tri-Series

⁡An unforgettable experience representing the Swimming Victoria Team at the Tri Series in Karratha, WA, competing against New Zealand and Western Australia.

A special shout-out to Eli, who proudly represented the team across multiple events throughout the competition.

Five matches in three days, combined with tough conditions, challenged every athlete to perform at their best. The resilience, teamwork, and determination shown by the entire team were outstanding.

Beyond the racing, we were fortunate to experience the rich culture and community of Karratha. It was a privilege to learn more about the local area and its people, making this trip about much more than just swimming.

Ivanhoe Swim is excited to launch its new Deaf and Hard of Hearing Swimming Program, creating more accessible, inclusive and empowering opportunities for children and adults of all abilities to learn and enjoy swimming.

The program operates from the Sports & Aquatic Centre at Ivanhoe Grammar School's Ivanhoe Campus and is led by Deaflympian, swim instructor and 2025 Deaflympics gold medallist Imogen Nolan. Driven by Ivanhoe Swim Director of Aquatics Katrina Gevaux, the new Deaf and Hard of Hearing Swimming Program is creating a more inclusive pathway for children, adults and families to learn this vital life skill.

Working alongside Deaflympian and instructor Imogen Nolan, Katrina has led an approach in which accessibility and inclusion are embedded in every lesson through thoughtful communication strategies and teaching practices.

"I'm a big believer in everyone learning how to swim," said Katrina. "I don't think it's right that there are some people out there who aren't allowed or just can't get access to swim lessons. Everyone has the right to learn."

Well done to everyone who attended the Lawes Swim Clinics on Tuesday 30 June and Thursday 2 July!

A huge thank you to our mentor, Wayne Lawes, for leading the sessions alongside Lead Coach Aaron, Coach Stephanie, and Coach Charlie.

Our junior swimmers focused on building strong race fundamentals, while our senior swimmers developed advanced race skills and race strategies.

It was a fantastic opportunity to learn from one of the best, and we hope everyone took away something valuable to apply in training and racing.

We can’t wait to see even more swimmers at our next clinic! 🩵🤍

Rory started his competitive swimming journey at Northcote Swim Club, where he became a State swimmer.

He later moved to MLC Aquatic and progressed to National level swimming.

Unfortunately, injuries and other challenges forced him to step away from the sport for a period of time.

Rory returned to the pool with Ivanhoe Swim as part of his rehabilitation, but it didn’t take long before he was back racing again. Why? Because he never gives up.

Since returning, Rory has embraced training with enthusiasm and positivity. He brings great energy to every session, and even on days when he’s not feeling his best, he always gives 100% in both the pool and the gym.

His last race was at the Ivanhoe Swim Meet, where he competed in two events and achieved two personal best times.

Thank you, Rory. You are an incredible role model, and we are so proud of everything you have achieved throughout your swimming career.

We wish you all the very best as you begin your next chapter in Europe. Please remember that you will always be part of the Ivanhoe Swim family, and our door is always open for you.

Good luck, Rory💫we can’t wait to see what comes next.
