Racing at The Loop, Wednesday 26 August.

After three weeks of cancellations due to the weather, the sun shone and the people came - 41 of them, including 15 in A grade. There were especially notable rides from Stephen Barnard, who went solo in C grade, and newbie Marcus McKay in D grade. Thanks to commissaire Bec Williamson (Simon is still on a well-earned break)

Results and photos below.

We were lucky with the weather this morning and racing was on at Holloway Dve, Bayswater! We just snuck it in because soon after the finish, sure enough, the rain came. This was obviously a deterrent as numbers were down but well done to those hardy souls that bravely turned up. The cold and biting wind was fierce down the back straight and these conditions favoured the breakaways. This was evident across the Grades which did have splits at times. None more so than C Grade and our ride of the day going to Shane Templar. He powered off the front early on and only Craig Oliver managed to bridge across and stay with him - until Shane went again with a well deserved solo win.
Great work by all those racing today, respecting other bunches into corners and plenty of communication out on the road.
Special mention to the Chief Comms, Marshalls, Riding First Aiders and Trailer Tower. It was bitterly cold on course, we appreciate your efforts.

As the drizzle stopped and the sun nearly came out, a band of hardy riders pinned on a number and racing commenced at The Loop last Wednesday. We didn't have enough to run B Grade, but A, C and D Grades were run as usual.

Well done to all who raced and particularly negotiating 'that' corner and staying safe.

No photos to post, it was too grey and dreary and everyone seemed keen to get somewhere warmer and drier!!!

Racing at The Loop today and thanks to Nick Tapp for the insight, as reported below:
We had a good morning's racing with an initially damp track drying nicely. A slight shakedown of grades started at the top today as a handful of sometime A-graders were moved to B.
There’s sometimes an understandable reluctance to move down, and we don’t always get enough riders to justify making an E grade, but we’ll see how this plays out. The aim is safe, competitive racing that gives everyone a chance at a result.
Results below, well done to all.

The conditions were stunning for road racing yesterday at Yarra Glen. Not a breath of wind and beautiful sunny skies greeted our riders.
We had lots of attacking within the bunches with most of the splits happening very early in the piece. Glenview Rd with its little pinch towards the top, saw lively legs and plenty of pain faces.
A great spot to catch the action with some shots pasted below.
Well done to everyone and a special thanks as always goes to our crew that marshalled, our Chief Comms, trailer tower, esky provider and our First Aider whom we thankfully didn't need to call into action!
