This is a knife I was asked to make for a young lady hunter. It was commissioned by a mutual friend as a gift. It’s a project I really wanted to be involved with. We want all the young hunters we can get. And it’s great to see girls getting involved in the hunting lifestyle. The brief was that she liked pink and that needed to be the theme for this knife. I gave Vaughan my sheath maker a heads-up that this was coming, and the sheath had to feature pink too. As I expected, Vaughan said that would be fine.
The blade is san mai Damascus with a VG10 core. The handle is bubble gum pink G10 with pink and black G10 liners, stainless Loveless bolts & lanyard tube. Vaughan’s sheath complements the colour scheme and features a pink inlay on the front of the sheath.

The blade on this one is 3mm VG10 San Mai stainless with a full flat grind. The handle on this one is Sheoak with red G10 liners, stainless Loveless bolts & lanyard tube and 10 coats of hand rubbed oil finish. The sheath is my design, made by Vaughan Ellis (although the inlay on this one is Vaughans idea - its great working with him because he is trying to turn out the best work he can, so we get a great product at the end of the process).

This is a model I designed for a repeat customer who needed to skin kangaroo tails and other stuff. Its based on my hunter profile, but with a shorter, narrower blade. I got good feedback on the first one I made, so thought I would add it to the knives I offer at shows.
The steel is 2.5mm NitroV stainless. The blade is three inches long and is about point seven of an inch wide at the plunge lines. The handle is a tapered tang, with Terotuf handle scales. Terotuf is like micarta, but lighter and has a more grippy texture. Liners are orange G10, with nickel silver Corbey bolts and a stainless lanyard tube.

Another hunter profile from the Melbourne knife show last month. This one was bought by a young woman on the first day. Great to see it go to a fantastic home.
Steel is VG10 San Mai. The etch really bought out the colours in the steel. The edge is a full flat grind. The handle is a nice piece of gidgee with red liners, stainless Loveless bolts and a stainless lanyard tube.
