Special day Tepetonka yesterday, helping celebrate the opening of our newest course with the members. Congratulations to Mark for seeing his dream realised and to Jerry Johnson, Mike Nelson and of course the members.

Herbert Barker was a successful English amateur golfer in the early 1900s who emigrated to America to take up the head professional position at Garden City.

Perhaps influenced by founding member and architect Walter Travis, Barker became interested in design and went on to create around a dozen original designs, including Druid Hills in Atlanta Georgia.

We're delighted to be have been appointed the Club's new consultant architect and we are currently mid way through the preparation of a new Masterplan for the course.

Barker did an excellent job of routing the course, especially given the severity of some of the slopes and its relatively small size. The course has a wonderful feel, thanks to the dramatic contour, creeks and scattered copses of trees, and while the course is already sound, there is an opportunity to dramatically elevate the quality of the architecture and the reputation of the course.

Druid Hills plays host to the major amateur event, the Dogwood Invitational each April, and was briefly the home of Bobby Jones, who won the club championship as a 15 year old.

Founded in 1887, the Piedmont Driving Club is one of the oldest private clubs in Georgia, with its name rooted in the early tradition of driving fine horses on the Club’s grounds in Midtown Atlanta.

Last year, the Driving Club celebrated the 25th anniversary of its Golf Club. More than 500 serene acres just 20 minutes from downtown Atlanta are home to the Club’s 18-hole Championship Course. Routed around a 145-acre lake, the course is framed by mature pines and dramatic, undulating terrain.

OCM Golf is proud to partner with the Piedmont Driving Club on a new Master Plan for the course — one designed to unlock the full potential of this remarkable property while honoring the character, history, and traditions that make it so special.

Australian Golf Digest have ranked Huntingdale Golf Club at #18 in this year's Top 100 golf courses, after their previous ranking of #53.

Australian Golf Digest have ranked Mount Lawley Golf Club at #37 in this year's Top 100 courses, after previously sitting outside the rankings.

Like the opposite end of the property, the Southern part of Huntingdale Golf Club has again seen some fairly dramatic changes.

One of the holes we were most excited to bring back was the short par 4 5th, although it is now framed and defended by sand in place of the tea tree which terrified golfers who tried to drive the green in the 80's and 90's.
