🏀 SACCSS Senior Girls Basketball Division 1 Champions

The Senior Girls Basketball team continued their outstanding run of success, defeating Salesian College 45-37 to secure the SACCSS Senior Division 1 Championship. This remarkable achievement marks the fourth consecutive year that the team has been crowned SACCSS Champions.

The girls displayed excellent teamwork and composure throughout the contest, overcoming a determined Salesian side to once again take home the title. Congratulations to Shanai H who was named Best on Court for her outstanding performance and to Jessica B who received the Peer Award in recognition of her leadership, encouragement and sportsmanship.

SACCSS Senior Boys Basketball Grand Finals 🏀

The Senior Boys Basketball team competed strongly in their Grand Final against Caroline Chisholm Catholic College but were narrowly defeated 59-63 in a highly competitive match. The team should be proud of an excellent season and their efforts throughout the game. Congratulations to Levi A who received the Peer Award.

The Senior Boys 1B team also finished runners-up after a hard-fought Grand Final against Salesian College. In one of the most exciting matches of the day, the teams could not be separated at full time, forcing the game into overtime. Despite a determined effort, the boys were ultimately defeated 41-48. The team demonstrated great resilience and commitment throughout both the match and the season. Congratulations to Jamie M, who was awarded the Peer Award.

Congratulations to Year 11 Student and ADP Athlete Monique Rowe for her continued success in 2026, this time taking her talents on a tour of New Zealand.

Monique had two fights over this past weekend where she was victorious in both encounters, in the process taking down the number 1 ranked fighter in New Zealand.

Exciting News for the Epping Basketball Community!

Hoop City Epping is pleased to support the launch of a new basketball coaching program at the Casa D’Abruzzo Club in Epping.

Led by Darryl McDonald, former NBL champion and coach, the program will provide exceptional basketball coaching opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels. With before-school, daytime and afternoon sessions available, the program is designed to support player development while making quality coaching accessible to the local community.

Schools will also have the opportunity to access a range of outstanding facilities and services, including:

• Two indoor basketball courts
• Dedicated shooting bays
• Fully equipped gymnasium
• On-site café
• Experienced coaches and basketball development programs

This exciting initiative will help young athletes build their skills, confidence and passion for the game in a supportive and professional environment.

Hoop City Epping looks forward to seeing basketball continue to grow across Melbourne's north through opportunities such as this and encourages local schools, students and families to learn more about the program.

SACCSS Senior Boys Divison 1 Football Champions 🥇

Our Senior Boys secured a hard-fought 3–2 victory, with goals from Jesse Cuculeski, Will Kengni and Zak Brancatisano. Jesse was named Peer Award for his outstanding contribution. The boys have now claimed the SACCSS Senior Football Division 1 Championship for four consecutive years and will proudly represent SACCSS at the State Football Finals.
