We remember the courage and sacrifice of generations of fathers who have served Australia, past and present.

The Father and Son statue in the Shrine Crypt was dedicated to two generations of Victorians who served and died in the World Wars, only 20 years apart.

Its Australian National Flag Day.. The ANF was first flown on this day in 1901, over the dome of the Royal Exhivition Building in Melbourne. The commemorative day was officially proclaimed by the Governor General William Deane in 1996
