Leo has shown incredible determination and bravery throughout his swimming journey. While building confidence has had its ups and downs, he has never stopped trying—and this week, all of his hard work paid off! 👏

During his lesson with Jo, Leo achieved a huge milestone by paddling independently on just one noodle! 🌊⭐ He began with two noodles to help build his confidence, so seeing him swim all by himself with only one was such a proud moment. His willingness to give it his best go and believe in himself made this achievement even more special.

Leo’s confidence continues to grow every week, and it’s been amazing to watch him become such a brave and capable swimmer. We are so proud of everything you’ve achieved, Leo keep up the fantastic work! 💙🐠

If you've seen our teachers pouring water over your child's head, you're watching a carefully designed, highly responsive progression in action.

For new beginners, we use a gentle step approach to ensure they stay relaxed and happy:
1️⃣ We start with the shoulders.
2️⃣ We move to the back of the head.
3️⃣ Then we progress to the face.

The secret is in the communication:
Before any water moves, we always signal them with "[Child’s Name], Ready, Go!" But we don't just pour blindly—our eyes are always on their body language. We constantly read their cues, and if we notice a change in comfort or expression, we stop and reset.

This gradual, respectful process teaches amazing breath control and builds the trust needed for independent swimming success! 🌊💨

She has been part of the AQUA Schools team for just over a month, and has recently started teaching independently.

What she loves most about teaching is, seeing children achieve goals they’ve worked hard towards. There’s nothing better than watching a swimmer put in the effort and finally accomplish what they have been working so hard on! 🏅🎉

Fun fact, swimming runs in the family! Her sister Mia and Carla both work at AQUA Schools, and so does her neighbour Jacob!!

We’re so excited to have her as part of the AQUA family and can’t wait to see the positive impact she continues to make in the pool! 💙

This week’s Student of the Week goes to Dexter 💙

Since returning to the program earlier this year, Dexter’s confidence in the water has grown so much. He has been doing a fantastic job swimming independently with flotation and continuing to refine his skills each week. It’s been so lovely to watch his confidence build as he becomes more comfortable and capable in the water.

Our instructors recently jumped in the pool for some hands-on training, focusing on breaststroke and butterfly drills.

By refining their own technique and practicing manipulating the strokes, our team is better equipped to break skills down and help swimmers learn with confidence. 🦋🐸
