Nothing quite beats seeing a fully painted set of Dark Perch HELLION 90s. A vision only brought to life after nearly 10 years of effort, persistence and an unwavering (and detrimentally rigid) passion for creating my own miniature world. Big individual baits are cool, but for me, there's something about seeing a collection of these smaller, more intricate baits, side-by-side. Each showing their individual personality, through nothing less than the nature of my own imperfections (wonky eyes, crooked lines, smudges, smears and sometimes the odd complimentary dog hair)...

🚨BAIT DROP ALERT🚨
Got some fresh HELLION 200s and 250s for the winter cod bite, as well as some finesse craws and worms dropping this friday (12/6/26) at 8:00pm.
I had fun playing with some new colours this time, and also went with the megabass style eyes which makes this a super unique batch of baits.
As always, limited stock so set the alarms.

POV: Google Photos shows you a really great memory from 5 years ago, and it sends you spiralling into an existential wormhole...
No... just me? Ok.
So much has changed in these last 5 years. But in all of the ups and downs, a few things have always stayed the same - My love for perch fishing and my love for making lures that catch them.
This incredible wild river perch was caught in the first session testing the HELLION 90 prototype. A lure maker honestly couldn't ask for a better proof of concept for a bait and I still remember it like yesterday.
Since then, I can't count how many amazing fish, of all different varieties have been caught on the 90 model. Yet, I still feel like I let this version of myself down somewhat. At this point in time, He was fully convinced that he was going to scale up Perch Palm production and turn lure-making into a feasible full time gig...
Dont get me wrong, this isn't me trying to whinge or moan! Sure, The bait-making dream didn't exactly pan out the way I thought it would, but that's life. Being where I am now, Looking back at this photo, it's clear that life rarely follow the path you draw for it and I think it's worth stopping to think about how far we've come, and what actually led us here every now and then.

My parents came down this weekend to see our new house and spend some time looking around the Goulburn Valley region we now call home. I had the pleasure of taking the old man out on the river yesterday morning, and he managed to catch his best cod ever. We decided to sit back soak a few baits in between casting lures, and this lovely 72cm fish ate a small block of cheddar and put up a great fight.
It's been so long since ive soaked some bait so it was a nice change of pace and great to spend some quality time with dad.
We also decided to keep this one to eat because dad hasnt had cod for years and I've never actually eaten it before. Growing up, dad would always ask me to bring home a nice legal cod from my cod fishing adventures but I never did, so I hope this makes up for it! The meat looks amazing, cooking it right now and cant wait to try it. 🍺

As some of you may have guessed by now, Perch Palm is back! My workshop is still not fully set-up, and I've been super busy with work and stuff around the new house, but I've been trying my best to put together some stock for a drop to kick things off again. I've mainly focused on HELLION 200s (pictuted) for the winter cod fisho's but I've also whipped up some other size HELLIONs, as well as some grubs and craws for winter Perch etc.
The drop is on Friday 24th April at 8:00pm AEST! Even more limited stock than usual so set an alarm 🍺👍

Perch fishing is definitely my medicine. It's been a good start to autumn so far. Only a few bites across the last 2 sessions but, 2 nice fish and a few smaller ones in betweem. This one took a little prototype i've been working on behind the scenes. Its the gudgeon i made last year with a subtle little paddle tail 👍
