πŸβ„οΈ ROUND 8 – BUSINESS AS USUAL IN WINTER CRICKET! 🌧️πŸ₯Ά

Cold? βœ”οΈ
Gloomy? βœ”οΈ
Wet? βœ”οΈ
Questioning our life choices at 8:00am? BIG βœ”οΈπŸ˜‚

Just another normal Saturday in winter cricket!

As we head into Round 8, it's hard to believe there are only two more games left in this edition of winter cricket. The season has flown by, and now every run, wicket, catch, and questionable LBW appeal feels that little bit more important. πŸ‘€

πŸ”₯ DK11 comes into this round riding high after a fantastic victory last week. Confidence is up, momentum is building, and the boys will be looking to keep the good times rolling.

βš”οΈ NAV11, meanwhile, is ready to leave it all out on the park. The hunger is there, the determination is there, and they're willing to go any yard necessary to get back into the winner's circle. Sometimes all it takes is one game to change the storyβ€”and this could be that game. πŸ’ͺ

Now it's time to bring the energy one more time and get around both teams as they prepare for another massive Saturday.

πŸ“‹ Here are your Playing 12s for Round 8: 🏏 Gadakh Shield – NAV11 and 🏏 Xavier Shield – DK11

To the boys: embrace the conditions, trust your preparation, and play for each other. Winter cricket isn't won by the team with the warmest handsβ€”it's won by the team with the biggest heart. πŸ’™πŸ’›

And if the sun makes an appearance for more than five minutes, please take a photo. We'd like evidence that it still exists πŸ˜‚β˜€οΈ

Good luck to both teams. Let's make Round 8 count! πŸ”₯🏏

πŸβ„οΈ ROUND 7 RESULTS – A TALE OF TWO GAMES πŸ’™πŸ’›

Winter cricket served up another mixed bag for the EBCCC family this weekend, with one team celebrating a hard-fought victory and the other left wondering where all the runs disappeared to πŸ‘€πŸ˜‚

🏏 Xavier Shield
🏠 Home vs Mount Eliza
βœ… EBCCC WIN by 13 runs

What a win! πŸ”₯

The boys defended a modest total with heart, discipline, and some outstanding bowling. When the scoreboard doesn't give you much to work with, character becomes your biggest weaponβ€”and Team 2 showed plenty of it.

Every bowler stood up when it mattered, proving once again that low scores can still be winning scores when everyone buys into the mission. A fantastic team effort and a well-deserved result! πŸ‘πŸ’ͺ

βš”οΈ Gadakh Shield
🏠 Away vs CUCC Kings
❌ EBCCC lost by 7 wickets

A disappointing day with the bat for Team 1.

Managing just 114 runs from 29 overs, we never really gave ourselves enough scoreboard pressure to work with. There were moments, there were partnerships waiting to happen, but unfortunately we couldn't build the innings we needed.

The good news? Cricket has a short memory.

One bad batting day doesn't define a team, just as one great win doesn't complete a season.

The challenge now is simple: learn, reset, and come back stronger next week. πŸ’ͺ

To both teams, keep backing yourselves and each other. Success isn't built on perfect weekendsβ€”it's built on how you respond to the tough ones.

And let's be honest... winter cricket has been so unpredictable this season that even the weather doesn't know what's happening anymore πŸ₯ΆπŸ˜‚

Heads up, boys. The best chapters of the season are still ahead of us. πŸ”₯πŸ’™πŸ’›

πŸβ˜€οΈ ROUND 5 – TAKE TWO! THE RESERVE DAY IS HERE! β˜€οΈπŸ”₯

Well, well, well... after the weather tried its best to spoil the fun, it looks like we've finally got a Saturday that's actually looking promising! 😍

Blue skies? Maybe.
Dry outfield? Hopefully.
Actual cricket? Now we're talking! πŸ™Œ

The wait is over, and both teams are more than ready to get back out there.

After some recent tough losses, the hunger to bounce back is stronger than ever. The boys have had an extra week to think about it, talk about it, and probably replay every dropped catch and missed opportunity in their heads a hundred times πŸ˜‚

Now it's time to turn that frustration into motivation.

βš”οΈ Team 1 is eager to get back to the form that made them one of the early-season pace setters.

🏏 Team 2 is ready to prove that their best cricket is still ahead of them.

The beauty of cricket is that every week brings a fresh opportunity, and this Reserve Day gives both teams exactly thatβ€”a clean slate and another chance to make a statement. πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯

πŸ“‹ Here are your Playing 12s for Round 5 in 🏏 Gadakh Shield & 🏏 Xavier Shield

To the lads: enjoy the day, trust your skills, back your teammates, and leave everything out on the field. The weather might finally be cooperating, so let's make the most of it!

And after weeks of winter cricket, seeing the sun might actually improve the batting averages by 20 runs πŸ˜‚β˜€οΈ

Let's bring the energy, bring the noise, and bring home some results!

πŸ’™πŸ’› GO EBCCC! πŸ’™πŸ’›

🏏🌧️ ROUND 6 – APPARENTLY WE'RE EXCITED FOR THIS WEATHER NOW... πŸ™ˆβ„οΈ

Another Saturday is upon us, and if we're being honest... it's not looking very promising.

Cold? βœ”οΈ
Wet? βœ”οΈ
Windy? Probably βœ”οΈ
Ideal cricket weather? Absolutely not πŸ˜‚

Yet somehow, here we are, prepared and looking forward to it.

We can't quite believe we're saying that about a freezing, wet winter Saturday, but that's what winter cricket does to you. After a few rounds, you either embrace the conditions or start looking up flights to Queensland πŸ₯ΆβœˆοΈ

Both teams are still hungry to bounce back after some recent tough losses. The results haven't gone our way lately, but the attitude, effort, and belief within the group remain strong.

Every season has its challenges. Every good team faces adversity.

The important thing is how we respond.

This week is another opportunity to show character, back our mates, and remind ourselves what EBCCC cricket is all about. πŸ’™πŸ’›

πŸ“‹ Here are your Playing 12s for Round 6 🏏Gadakh Shield and 🏏Xavier Shield

To the boys: bring the energy, bring the intensity, and bring your rain jackets. Trust the work you've put in, enjoy the contest, and don't let the weather decide your attitude.

Because while the forecast might be gloomy, our scoreboard doesn't have to be. πŸ”₯πŸ’ͺ

And remember... catches win matches, but actually being able to feel your hands helps too πŸ˜‚πŸ₯Ά

Let's get around both teams and make Round 6 a big one!

🏏🌧️ ROUND 5 – COLD, WET & READY FOR A COMEBACK! ❄️πŸ”₯

Another cold and wet winter Saturday awaits...

Honestly, we feel for the boys. Most people will be tucked away under a blanket with a hot coffee, while our cricketers will be standing in the rain wondering why they signed up for winter cricket in the first place πŸ˜‚πŸ₯Ά

But that's exactly what makes this game special.

After a really tough outing last round, both teams are hungry to respond. The disappointment has been parked, the lessons have been learned, and now it's time to focus on what comes next.

Because great teams aren't judged by how they celebrate victoriesβ€”they're judged by how they bounce back from setbacks. πŸ’ͺ

βš”οΈ Team 1 is eager to remind everyone why they started the season so strongly.

🏏 Team 2 is determined to prove that last week was just a bump in the road.

The energy is building, the boys are ready, and it's time for another massive weekend of EBCCC cricket!

πŸ“‹ Here are your Playing 12s and 11s for Round 5 🏏Gadakh Shield and 🏏Xavier Shield

To the lads: play hard, back your teammates, trust your preparation, and embrace the conditions. Everyone gets the same weatherβ€”it’s the teams with the strongest mindset that find a way through. πŸ”₯

And remember... if you can't feel your fingers by drinks break, you're officially playing winter cricket correctly πŸ₯ΆπŸ˜‚

Let's bring the energy, bring the fight, and bring home some results!

πŸ’™πŸ’› GO EBCCC! πŸ’™πŸ’›

πŸβ„οΈ ROUND 4 RESULTS – A TOUGH WEEK FOR THE BOYS IN BLUE & YELLOW πŸ’™πŸ’›

Winter cricket can be a funny game. One week you're feeling on top of the world, the next week it reminds you that there's still plenty of work to do.

Unfortunately, Round 4 was one of those weeks.

βš”οΈ Gadakh Shield
🏠 Home vs Melbourne Sixers
❌ EBCCC lost by 104 runs

🏏 Xavier Shield
✈️ Away vs Ghan United Snow Leopards
❌ EBCCC lost by 116 runs

It's fair to say this was an extremely rough week for our boys. Both teams found themselves on the wrong side of some big margins, with losses of more than 100 runs.

The frustrating part? Both teams had their moments.

There were opportunities.
There were passages of play where we looked in control.
There were chances to shift the momentum.

But cricket is a game that rewards teams who grab those moments with both hands, and unfortunately we couldn't quite capitalise when it mattered most.

The good news? The season isn't won in Round 4.

Nobody remembers how many times you get knocked down. They remember how you respond.

This club has too much character, too much talent, and too much fight to dwell on one difficult weekend. The only direction from here is forward. Heads up, chests out, and let's attack the next round with determination, confidence, and a point to prove. πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯

And if winter cricket has taught us anything, it's that some Saturdays are colder than others... this one just happened to freeze the scoreboard too πŸ₯ΆπŸ˜‚

We'll regroup, reload, and bounce back stronger.

πŸβ„οΈ ROUND 4 IS HERE… AND THE BOYS ARE ACTUALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THE COLD NOW πŸ₯ΆπŸ˜‚

Another winter Saturday awaits, but something’s changed…
The early morning frost no longer scares us.
Frozen fingers? Character building.
Cold breeze? Basically home conditions now 😎

βš”οΈ Team 2 finally got their much-awaited breakthrough win last round, and you can feel the confidence building already πŸ”₯ The boys are charged up, hungry for more, and ready to keep the momentum rolling.

🏏 Team 1, on the other hand, knows they let one slip through their fingers last week. A game that was in our hands… and winter cricket can be ruthless like that πŸ‘€ But the response this week will say everything about this sideβ€”and the boys are eager to bounce back stronger πŸ’ͺ

One thing’s for sure: the energy around the club is alive and well. So let’s crank it up once again for another massive weekend of cricket!

πŸ“‹ Here’s your Playing 12 for Round 4:

🏏 Gadakh Shield
🏏 Xavier Shield

To the lads: back yourselves, trust your teammates, and rememberβ€”winter cricket rewards the toughest minds, not just the warmest jackets πŸ˜‚πŸ”₯

Let’s get around both teams and make this another big weekend for EBCCC πŸ’™πŸ

πŸβ„οΈ ROUND 3 RESULTS – BOUNCE BACKS, LESSONS & WINTER CRICKET CHAOS πŸ₯ΆπŸ”₯

Another cold Saturday done and dusted, and this round gave us a bit of everythingβ€”big smiles, tough lessons, and enough drama to keep the WhatsApp chats alive all week πŸ˜‚.

🏏 Xavier Shield
🏠 Home game vs Melbourne Dazzlers
βœ… EBCCC WIN by 10 runs

NOW THAT’S A RESPONSE πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯
Team 2 bounced back strongly and finally registered their first win of the season! The energy was high, the intent was there, and the boys held their nerve when it mattered most. Great to see the hard work paying off πŸ‘.

βš”οΈ Gadakh Shield
🏠 Home game vs Heatherton
❌ EBCCC lost by 41 runs

A tough result for Team 1. To be honest, it wasn’t a game we should’ve lost. Winter cricket has a funny way of humbling you when you take your foot off the gas for even a moment πŸ‘€πŸ₯Ά.

The good thing? Strong teams respond. Heads down, lessons learned, and onto the next one. One bad day doesn’t define the seasonβ€”it’s how we bounce back that matters πŸ’―.

To both teams: keep showing up for each other, trust the process, and remember… even frozen fingers can still catch screamers (sometimes πŸ˜‚).

Big weeks ahead for the club and plenty more cricket to come πŸ’™πŸ”₯.

β„οΈπŸ ROUND 3 IS HERE… AND OUR ESKIMOS ARE OFFICIALLY TRAINED FOR THIS WEATHER! πŸ₯ΆπŸ”₯

Another freezing Saturday awaits, but by now the boys have evolved.
Cold hands? Normal.
Foggy mornings? Easy.
Trying to grip the ball with frozen fingers? Just winter cricket things πŸ˜‚

βš”οΈ Team 1 has come out flying with back-to-back wins and is looking locked in early this season πŸ’ͺ
🏏 Team 2 is still chasing that first win, but the energy, belief, and fight are still alive and well. And let’s be honest… every great comeback story starts somewhere πŸ‘€πŸ”₯

This week is another chance to lift, compete, and show what EBCCC is all about. So let’s pump the energy right back up and get around the boys once again!

πŸ“‹ Here’s your Playing 12 for Round 3:

🏏 Gadakh Shield

🏏 Xavier Shield

To the lads: trust each other, enjoy the grind, and rememberβ€”winter cricket rewards the tough ones πŸ’―
And if anyone can still feel their toes after the first innings, they probably weren’t fielding properly πŸ˜‚

Let’s make Round 3 another big one for the club πŸ’™πŸ”₯
