The US Open draw is out and our Demon is in a decent spot 🎾 Alex de Minaur is the sixth seed and opens against a qualifier, with a possible fourth-round test against 19-year-old 12th seed Rafael Jodar down the track. There are 13 Aussies across the singles draws, including Alexei Popyrin and Aleksandar Vukic in Demon's quarter, while Thanasi Kokkinakis has drawn Jodar first up and Rinky Hijikata copped third seed Felix Auger-Aliassime. Play starts Sunday 30 August, so set those alarms. Which Aussie are you backing to go deepest in New York?

Novak's still chasing history 🎾 He'll be the No.4 seed at the US Open when it starts on 30 August, hunting a record 25th Grand Slam singles title that would take him clear of Margaret Court. His last major came right here in New York back in 2023, and he went agonisingly close again in Melbourne this January before Carlos Alcaraz turned that final around. Bit of a curveball heading into New York — world No. 1 Jannik Sinner has withdrawn from the US Open with an ongoing right knee issue. He says he got back on court in Monte Carlo but simply needs more time, which is a tough but smart call.
